Space travel, astronomy, the stuff out there we can see and can only visit by reading science fiction books.

Those are things I have enjoyed.  No, I have never traveled in space (just under water for 60 days more or less0.  But science fiction was one of my favorite books.

So, the NASA Space program was something I watched.  One reason, when I asked my wife to marry me it was on the day that Apollo 11, landed on the moon, July 16, 1969.  She said yes and we have enjoyed many things in our life together.

This afternoon, we saw that the splash down of the astronauts returning from the space station was going to occur at around 5:55 PM EDT.

So, we made sure we found a channel that would cover the entire event. That channel was OAN (One American News).

They (OAN) did a great job and we saw the entire landing.  As the space capsule bobbed around in the Gulf of America, all of a sudden a group of dolphins arrived to greet the returning astranauts.  It was very, very cool to see that.  Makes one think about all things and how they are intertwined.  Just a very cool event.

Having sailed in several oceans, I never tired of seeing dolphins. We have an affinity for each other that even they know.

It was pretty cool to see the dolphins just suddenly appear and swim around un phased by the boats and the recovery crew working on the capsule as it bobbed in the water. We counted 8 dolphins in all just swimming around checking stuff out.

It was definitely a relief to see them safely splash down in the Gulf of America...

...the dolphins welcoming them home was the cherry on top!
