As of March 22, 2025, there are 29 states that have constitutional carry or permitless carry laws, meaning individuals can carry a handgun concealed in public without a permit or license, so long as the person is of age, and not otherwise prohibited (like a felony conviction, etc).
I'm not a fan of 'open carry' for a number of reasons. But that's another discussion.
Here's a list of those states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia (with some exceptions), Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
The Second Amendment doesn't say... The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, so long as you have a permit.
It ought to be all 50.
