I know, it's not a Valkyrie but please bear with me!!

Looking for a good VTX 1300 forum. One that that has good people like this Valk forum (probably impossible but maybe get close)!!

Or might be someone here interested!

There is a '08 VTX 1300 that has been sitting under a porch cover in one of my neighbor's backyard for a couple of years. Recently, 3-4 months, it was moved out from under the cover and is sitting outside, totally in the weather!
After a number of tries I finally got in touch with the owner of the house, a lady my age (probably a bit older) and it turns out the bike belonged to her son who died of covid in '22.
A real sweet lady. I explained to her I don't want or need this bike but hate to see it "going to waste" like it is. She agrees with me and would like to see something done with it too!!

A quick check of KBB (for bikes) an "average" bike like this is $4030, but this bike is far from average!
It definitely needs some TLC!!
Both tires are flat (and I'm sure needing replacing), Battery deader than Jeffery Epstein and the bike shows weathering all over!
Also, it has about 1/2 tank of gas, still smells like gas, and I'm not sure if this is carbureted or fuel injected and what would be needed if it is fuel injected sitting for years with fuel!!
I think it can be "brought back to life" and make a good ride for someone (although, let's get real, it won't be a Valkyrie!!).

I'm not sure if the owner was married but the mom said she thinks she knows where the title is. I'd assume if he was married the widow has the title.
Although we haven't talked price in depth, mom is fully aware this thing needs work and realizes it isn't in prime condition!!

My previous bike was a VTX 1300.  Not to bore everyone here with the details, I sent you a private message.

The ‘08s are  carbed. The ten’s became injected. It is only one carb making the job easier. With some patina, three grand is reality on resale. Get it cheap to make some $$$.

When one looks at what used Valkyries are bringing and considering what a used Valkyrie might be worth in the VTX’s condition. $1,000.00 could be considered a big price for a 1300 that needs work. But still I hope you can save it! I let my Valkyrie sit for years while I had moved in with my son to help care for premie twin boys and it would take a pot of money to bring it back, and it spent the whole time in my garage.

Thanks for the "carb" info!
It'd be great if I decided to tackle it and make $$$ but I'd be happy if I break even and get it back on the road!

Thanks, me too!
Whether I can work a deal and give it the TLC it needs or someone else gets it, I'd be thrilled either way!
Unfortunately, right now I have too many "irons in the fire" which is causing me to fudge on taking on anything else! But, seeing as how it has been sitting for a few years anyway, does it matter if it takes me a year or more (at the least it would be better protected at my place, for sure)!!

The place I'm having work on my Valk has an early 80's Suzuki GS1100E practically in mint condition that I wish I could afford.... It's also priced accordingly..

The VTX is very similar to Shadow line thus of late on Honda Shadow Forum the community has been helping a couple folk with 1300's with excellent results. HSN is a very informative bunch of older metric riders. No BS or such. Good people.
