I have been sitting with my wife after her back proceedure for about a month+ now.   Havent been on my Valk for over a month now.   Wife is doing great and has two more weeks before the docs will let her go back to normal life.   My son bought 2   2023 Kawasaki 650 cc adventure bikes single cylinder on/off road types.    He and my 16 yr old grandson and I are going riding tomorrow.   The 16 yr old has had several dirt bikes growing up but this is his first road bike.   He took the required state motorcycle learning class last Saturday and Sunday and went and did his Texas DMV driving test yesterday and passed and got his driving license yesterday.    We three are going from Waller Texas to Sealy Tx to eat breakfast in the morning and then going on my favorite ride thru the Independence Tx area and then over to Navasota Tx then to Carlos Tx to Yankees.     My first ride with my son and grandson on their own bikes.   Looking forward to it

That sounds great.  Nothing like a three generation ride.   cooldude

While I started riding at 17 with a 650 BSA Lightning, that was a mistake and I went to a street legal dirt bike and I credit dirt riding with my motorcycle riding skills.

There were no MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) training courses then, and no separate motorcycle drivers license endorsement either.  When I showed up to register my Honda CB750 at my first Air Force base, they wanted to see my MSF certificate and I didn't have one.  They told me I would not be allowed to ride on base, and would have to push my bike to the gate (several miles).  So I took the next available MSF course on base, and passed (I'd then been riding about 17 years).

There were no little 125/250cc bikes provided, you had to take it on your own bike.  I can ride my Valks slow and balanced pretty darn well, but I wouldn't enjoy spending all day on one inside the little MSF box.

was a great ride.  Breakfast at Tonys restauramnt in Sealy, Tx then on to the countryside.   me, my son, and my grandson rode 200 miles in pretty countryside with gorgeous weather.......ended up at Yankees tavern and hamburger place in Carlos Tx where we consumed fried mushrooms and fried onion rings and boudan balls washed down with water only.    Quite a few motorcycles there Saturday evening.   Great ride and a great family excursion.

That sounds like a fantastic day Digger.   cooldude

But I have a question.

How many balls does a Boudan have?   Grin
