If you like Billy Joel and you have a whole bunch of $$$ you can buy his 2001 Honda Valkyrie Standard with only 5600 miles.  Check it out

Three times what it's worth, just because a celebrity owned it?  I don't think so.  A nine year old bike that hasn't even had it's original tires worn out?  He oughta be ashamed of himself for making that public knowledge.  He shoulda bought a Harley.

T-Bird....thanks for posting, however I just want you to know that it REALLY has me pissed off this Sunday morning.  I received an email last week as follows (the name has been XXXXX'd out to prevent this thread from becoming a political diatribe):

"The danger to America is not XXXX XXXX but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency.  It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an XXXX presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

I thought that was a pretty good explanation of where this country stands...however this ad goes one better.  Nothing could possibly describe the lack of common sense in this nation than that ad...I don't know which is worse...the person asking 20K or the person willing to pay it!  Before someone points it out, I am perfectly aware that this is a free society and someone is certainly within their rights to ask what they want for their personal property...a person always has the right to pay or walk away.  Even within those parameters, something seems terribly wrong here.

A society that is FUBAR for sure.  I now am getting off the stump....

A little history on that dealer. I bought my IS from him new in 1999. When I took it in for it's first service they finger tightened the Diff plug and I lost it on the way home.
Fast forward 10 years. I now live in AZ and rode to NY. I stopped in and asked about an oil change. Owner told me that he didn't care that I was on the road 2500 miles from home or that I bought it from him. He wouldn't help me.
This has nothing to do with Billy Joel's Valk but if you buy it don't expect much from Champion Honda the same guy still owns it..  Angry

Who is Billy Joel?  Somehow, I just never got into this hero worship thing.  Wouldn't walk across the street to meet him or any other entertainer of his kind.  Almost none of them are anything special as a person.  There are a few, however, who have distinguished themselves in other ways, such a Audy Murphy, Jimmy Stweart, Clint Eastwood, Fred Rogers(Mister Rogers), and a few more like these men who are real American Heroes and deserve our thanks and recognition, for things much more important than their talent as entertainers...JTL (But I wouldn't pay three times the value for any of their motorcycles.)

I'm good with it.

If one were buying a bike to ride that would certainly be the wrong bike at the wrong price.  If someone just wants to own a "collector's item" it may be just what he or she is looking for.

I'm not sure I'd sell mine for that price.  Mine and his are both the rare and beautiful 2001 Blue and White Standard.  Mine has a few more miles.

Wow!  Me and Billy have the same bike.  Cool.   Loved his early stuff.

As for the post about Bruce Willis, you were right to not be impressed.  I was an extra in Die Hard II and saw him up close and personal for 6 nights.  He is quite the prima donna and threw an embarrassing tantrum with the Director.  He looked pretty silly as he was trying to get in the face of Renny Harlin, who stands about a half foot taller than Bruce.

I have the same bike that I purchased last year for $7000 with 12,000 miles.
I have seen Billy Joels collection of motorcycles in Sag Harbor and I must say it's is impressive.

Ok Ron...

give it up... which seen for the movie are you in?  Nosey Ratdogs wanna know.

Dear ol' dad tried out for the part of the village chief in Steven Segal's movie "On Deadly Ground".  He didn't get the part, but, I was pleased that he stepped up and tried out for the part.  The casting director opted for some Upik folks instead of Inuit folks.

Hello Ratdog!

I am running around throughout the crash scenes but you would have to be quick with the freeze frame to find me (where's Waldo?) but my "big scene" is at the end.   I am Dennis Franz (airport security chief) partner in the cop car that pulls up at the end of the movie.  In the DVD directors cut, I get a pretty decent semi-close up as I am standing by the passenger door after getting out, talking on the radio then running to rescue people.  It was big fun.

A lot of stories behind the story on that movie.  It ran way over budget because the whole country was in a freak warm spell that made snow a rare commodity.  They came to our little northern town because we still had plenty of white stuff.  However, after a couple days of shooting, we got warm too.

Some things to look for that were not edited out.  It was sleeting/raining and it made the temporary paint run on the airplanes that they had rented from an airline...still in the movie if you look close.  Also, since we had no snow they shot soap flakes in the air but that got in everyone's eyes and burned like heck.  Then they switched to instant potato flakes, so in some scenes the snow has a yellowish color.

They finally had to go up to the UP to film the snowmobile chase scenes before their snow melted too.  It is amazing the movie even got made, but I think they got their money back.

So...in this case, it would have been ok to eat the yellow snow???   uglystupid2

Toby Keith owns several Restaurant / Bars including the one in this link:

http://www.tobykeithsbar.com/restaurant-locations/oklahoma-city-bricktown

My daughter books the entertainment for him and says he never sings in his own Restaurants.

If you enlarge the picture of the Restaurant, you can see his custom MC hanging from the left side of the ceiling Smiley

I think I've seen that bike somewhere before...probably wasn't him riding it. I've heard of creative parking solutions, but I bet hoisting that down to take it out for a spin is a pain.
