If you can. I’m skipping Church this morning to travel the hour and fourth five minute drive to spend the day with my Mother. At 96, sone to be 97, I don’t know how many more chances I’ll have to make today a little special for her. Most of us have wives who are mothers too so I’ll have to try and make her day special too. Our son loves his Mother but he hasn’t quite grasp the fragility of life and how short time can be.

Happy Mother’s Day to all.

Whether mom is here or gone, lives in town or states away, a mother’s love and spirit is always with you.

I just got off the phone with my mom (95).

I love her so much.   smitten

We talk all the time, and my number one goal is to make her laugh.   Smiley

I’m with you on that! Sometimes we both start laughing together to the point we can catch our breath.

The thing that's so great is she has all her marbles, smarts and sense of humor.  I mean, there are things she can't remember well, but so do I.  We talk about things decades ago, and the two of us working together can often put things together.

Her and dad were HS sweethearts, but waited until college to get married.  They figured they needed $300 first and worked to save that up.  I can't fathom $300 being enough to get married, but it was 1951.  I came along in 1953.

Dad's gone 12 years now, and we both miss him.  But I kind of stay off that subject unless she brings it up.

Dad ran out of money for college ($50 a semester full time at WVU - Mountaineers).  So he enlisted in the Marines thinking if he had to go to war in Korea, he wanted to be with the best fighting men.  He didn't get sent to Korea, and made SSgt in one enlistment.  They wanted him to go to OCS and be an officer, and he turned them down.  I have to go back to school and finish my Civil Engineering degree, sorry fellas.

cooldude Good stories guys wonderful moms! I drove from my new location of life here in Leesburg, GA to Warner Robins, GA about 95 miles away. I was going to ride Renegade but rain forecasted most of the day. Moving from Milton, FL so close to my mom and the rest of our family will be a blessing. I’m the closest of my siblings 2 sisters and a brother to our mom. I got there at 9 am while she got ready for church. She looked beautiful and loved it that I got there to go to church with her and her 87 year old boyfriend. She’ll be 88 in October. She lives alone in her home she moved into 3yrs ago that she found and redecorated. An independent lady all the way. Good mind, overall health good. A Great Mothers Day for me too. A Blessed mom. angel

Had to be hard week! I know my time is coming as Mother gave me a pretty good scare in November but she has bounced back, but not as strong as before. Prayers for you and your extended family.
