«

Just installed motosens instruments just wondering what coolant temp is normal. Outside temp was 40 degrees bike running at 2000 rpms and fan was running and my gauge read 210 degrees is this correct temp for conditions. Not going down road bike was parked Running time 25 minutes
Thanks Garry

I have a temp. gauge on mine and for me, cruising runs about 150 - 180 and sitting my fan comes on about 215. I would let run to long at high temp. you could blue your pipes.

Sounds about right, [if parked] the fan kicks on at about that temp, run it down the road in 5 gear for a mile or so it will come back down to about 190*. need that Big Air to go through the radiator.

Depends on what thermostat you have in the engine. The thermostat will set the low side of the temp on a running engine. The maxumum is set by the air flow through the radiator and the temp of the air that is flowing through the radiator. If the radiator had enough capacity then the thermostat would set the running temp. Sadly my Valk does not have enough radiator to do this. So. In the winter it runs at the thermostat temp. + or - 5 degrees. Motosens guage in the top radiator hose. Can't remember now but if the sensor is in the block or lower hose it is off, just can't remember how much. But it was enough that I built the upper hose adaptor to hold the sensor. In the summer (leaving Palm Springs to LA) air temp was 123' and I thought I was going to have to stop and let it cool off, but finally dropped into the valley and closed throttle and temp droped. Guage was reading about 260 degrees and it was starting to fill the overflow tank.
