Day Two: Travel in Southport and a chance trip by Brunswick Nuclear Station.
Among the places we wanted to visit in Southport was the North Carolina Maritime Museum and the Water Front Park on the Cape Fear River. Howe St. was suppose to have boutiques and historic charm.
Since the motel was some distance from we had to ride downtown on the bike. Not an issue, again, except for the traffic.

The we walked over to East Moore Street to what was there.

Then we walked back to the Waterfront Park.

We stopped for some coffee and just before heading for the Maritime Museum. My wife enjoying the view.

Next was a visit to the North Carolina Maritime Museum. The Museum was interesting. And did provide some history for the area. Since most of the exhibits were behind glass, pictures did have some “reflections”.

I also got to look through a “Periscope” they had operational in the back part of the museum.
We then walked around the park and then took a seat to just look. You can see the table we stopped at in the first picture above. It turned out the gentlemen in the picture was riding a Harley. He left when we left.
A gentlemen walked up to us and asked about our motorcycle. He was also (or had been) a Goldwing rider. He talked about a “Wing over the Smokies Rally” on August 18, 2025. I was invited to attend and may do so. We had a good conversation. It was nice.
We headed back to the hotel to get ready for the trip tomorrow. On our way back to the hotel from our dinning location that evening, we ended up passing by the Brunswick Nuclear Station. The video below shows our trip past the station.
