1999 Valkyrie standard with less than 4,000 miles...all original and perfect..sat for at keast past 5 years...got from original owners daughter. Perfect mint shape just dusty lol.
Im very familiar with bikes/maintenance (have 13 now with Valk) 11 Yamahas and a 1980 Honda CB900 Special.

Will be doing all general maintenance, parts ordered...

Honda service manual
Battery
Emgo air filter
Wix oil filter and Shell Rotella T6 15w-40
Valvoline 75w-90 gear oil
Pair of Gates timing belts
Rear wheel valve stem "clip thingy" lol
NGK 5129 plugs
Prestons DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid for clutch and brakes
Investigating now good options for double darkside tires

Luckily gas tank was drained/dry so hoping carbs wont need yanked. Will put fresh gas in and see if she fires...

Will lube splines on diff when I do tires. On my shaft drive Yamahas I use high moly content paste (Loctite, expensive crap)...do I do sake for Valk shaft drive or just hi temp/water resistant synthetic grease?

Considering the Cobra 6x6 exhaust BUT heard bike will lose 10 hp even after jetted (that sucks) but also kind of want to keep this bone stock.

Any other maintenance bits specific to Valks at low mileage but 26 years old? Ill obviously inspect all rubber hoses and general safety things....but anything that Valks need in particular I might be over looking?

Thanks

Oh! Best part is Inscored this for onky $1,700!

Valve stems. Forget the clip thingy. Order screw in stems. Safer and they last forever.

these are the best and longest lasting o-rings to use, mine lasted 28k miles and actually only the large thin one wore out the other two were still serviceable. also use these upper shock bushings last even longer.

So many projects thus summer but this onenis kind of special. All my friends want to buy it bad. One already offered $5k as it sits lol. But....can make $5k a lot of ways and likely never ginna find an all original 4k mile Valk again...

don't forget the upper shock bushings. OEM is already done or are close to it. they don't last long at all.

Replace with oem or is there a better part?

What about valve adjustment...on my Yamahas it is WELL accepted tonleave them alobe and dont touch them regardless if what the manual says....what about on the Valk? Is it "done" or leave it be? Anynothet mechanical maintenace engine-wise (like cam chain tensioner adjustment I did on the old CB900)?

Yep...I have always used Prestone DOT 4 synthetic in all my brake/clutch systems with great success andbuse a vacuum bleeder hooked to air compressor...every 2 years for reg fluid and ill go 3-4 on synthetic brake fluid OR when it feels different at all. Have 13 bikes now and just cant justify doing "overboard" maintenenace on each one lol...plus obviously they sit in a sealed up heated/air condituoned garage on battery tenders so no exposure to the elements.

Got the O rings and shock poly bushings on order as well as all other bits and pieces....

Hopefully will start working on this thing end of the week or next week.

that is a beautiful bike man!  no wonder why you bought a 13th bike.  now you've got 12 to sell.  i haven't seen that orange and black color yet.  might be the best looking valk i've seen yet.  i've got 2 valks one with cobra sixes and one stock.  i love the sound of the cobras.  but the bike loves the stock pipe.  if you leave it stock and maintain it, that bike will live forever.  wouldn't say the same with cobra sixes.  i've learned never ever ever buy a bike with air intake mods.  valks are precision machines.  engineered perfectly.  i like the quietness of the stock exhaust too.  as for what you paid for that bike.  incredible.  congrats!!

all brake fluid is synthetic and has been for decades. the higher the wet boiling point the longer it will last.

suggest using the newer DOT4 LV. more consistent brake feel/firmer lever over a much wider range of ambient temps. also it has a higher wet boiling point which extends change out to 3 to 4 yrs, some say longer vs the 2 yrs of DOT4

At 4 thousand miles, I would forgo the timing belt replacement until you get to 80-100k miles. Many owners have totally F'd up their bikes for "peace of mind".  Honda says to inspect the belts at 100k miles and replace if needed.

those others are incorrect.
they are gates industrial belts designed to run 24/7 at higher loads than one camshaft with 90lb valve springs.
rockauto has lowest price.

here is construction materials of the belts, they don't go bad easily

Construction consists of these components:
1. Fiberglass Tensile Member — Provides high strength, excel-
lent flex life and high resistance to elongation.
2. Neoprene ® Backing — Strong Neoprene bonded to the tensile
member for protection against grime, oil and moisture. It also
protects from frictional wear if idlers are used on the back of the
belt.
3. Neoprene Teeth — Shear-resistant Neoprene compound is
molded integrally with the Neoprene backing. They are precisely
formed and accurately spaced to assure smooth meshing with
the sprocket grooves.
4. Nylon Facing — Tough nylon fabric with a low coefficient of
friction covers the wearing surfaces of the belt. It protects the
tooth surfaces and provides a durable wearing surface for long
service.

Any will work, it's plug and play, but you need an adapter bracket to mount it. Some guys have converted a Harley bracket to work, I have the DayMaker bracket....
