Yet, every biker has been a member at least one time in their riding life. Can anyone guess what I'm referring to(a good preposition, eh?). I wasted over an hour searching out the culprit while working on the trike...that's my only hint.  |

Wouldn't start with kickstand down and in gear?
(Double jeopardy on a trike since the kick stand has likely been removed.)

Kill switch?
BINGO! In my case, I personally never use the kill switch yet at one point yesterday I needed to stop the engine quickly so hit the "kill" followed by turning off the ignition a moment later. I can't remember the last time I've used the kill switch(decades?) so it's not something I'm used to using. I checked everything and finally grabbed the manual to see what I might be overlooking. Sitting there I started going over the start circuit when it hit me...and I could see it the moment I walked back into the garage. I forgot to flip the switch back on and wasted well over an hour stressing over a "no-start."  |

John, I never use the kill switch either. So just the other day, I'm ready for an early ride and the dang bike is dead. WTF!!!!!  I get off and start looking at things (like battery charge and charger). Nothing. Go in and get a cold bottle of water and come back out, and it just occurs to me to look at that kill switch, and that's the culprit. I know what I did. I always ride the bike up my driveway, through the 8' gates, then down the driveway to my shed doors, but leave it it outside for a quick bug wipe down, then push it in. I pushed the kill switch pushing it into the shed after my last ride.  I've done it before, but not for a long time. |

Also fun at gas station stops & sometimes while riding  Even did it to myself riding with gauntlet gloves Saw this yesterday & figured Kill Switch… |

Around here people F with you a great deal and will walk by and hit your engine shut off whikle you are in a store shopping.. And Don did it as a joke as well as others here in the club. So I always look. But some times I do forget that my key is in the seat relase |

some times I do forget that my key is in the seat release That's another one I do Tracy, and a lot more often than the kill switch. Almost every time I pull the seat to do something with the battery (or other), I end up thinking I've lost my key. Looking all over for it. Which I always leave in the ignition, unless I'm stopping and going in a store somewhere.

LOL! I never lose my key in the seat release as there is no reason to leave it in there after the saddle is removed. I have, very infrequently, had an issue with the kill switch.  |

See my keyless no longer works on the hatch back, so I have to pull the saddle and manualy open the hatchback.
This is why the key sits in there , once I'm home..

Folks would often say: “GiG, there’s a key in your seat release ”! - thanks That’s where I kept the $0.74 blank I got at Ace Hardware. Always had easy access to battery & important papers. It just so happened to be where I stored my spare… |

Kill switch?
BINGO! I did one just as bad: on Steve's group ride in Corydon IN on my first Goldwing trike we were stopped at a red light. I was in the middle of the road and stood up to stretch. When I sat down to go again the trike would not go into gear. Being a really smart guy I decided to shut her off and restart. NOTHING! No crank, no go, nothing. I started to disconnect the trailer so we could hook it up to my brothers trike when Gary ran over to check on me. He just started laughing and pushed the reverse button and said, try it now. Must have pushed it while stretching, fired right up and we all rode away. Not going to forget that one. The reverse locks out everything but: reverse. Cost me some beer that night as I got to listen to snickers. |
