Just thought I'd share a tip learned Saturday!!
I was going to install the airbox. I've done this many times and every time I end up cursing the designer.  tickedoff This time, I did the usual; right side in first, press in the left side, attach the right side, place a board over the top, ratchet it down the act as a third hand; and do you suppose I could get those miserable tubes onto the left carbs? Not a chance! Nothing worked! Then it dawned on me, I removed the center intake runner, reached up behind the carb, and viola!! finished. Note that my bike is de-smogged, and my hands are med to large. If you still have all that smog garbage and or extra large hands, this may not work for you. (It's still a LOUSY design).

There was a Youtube video on how to do this. The guy uses tie straps with a hand tightener to bend the odd/even side tubes in so both sides go in at the same time. Then cuts the ties and pulls the pieces out.

I have been so frustrated by the airbox that I actually bought a used one from Pinwall to experiment with. I was hoping that I could warm up the plastic tubes a bit with a heat gun and see if I could stretch them another 1/4".

Didn't work, though, so I got her as good as I can get her and left her alone until next time...

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I have been lucky. I dont have trouble getting the air box in. I take it out every year or so to do stuff. I slip 1 side in, slip the other side in, line them up, put my hand in the box with my body weight and tighten them down. 5 min if that.

I do the same thing except I use string. I tiel the tubes together in pairs. Drop the box between the frame cut the string and viola. Line them up,push down and tightend the clamps.
