Has anyone ever seen these springs break on the clutch basket. When I replaced my clutch pack for the rivet issue, I didn't remove and inspect the springs on the backside of the basket. I am thing all is ok since the new pack is working smoothly.....

I bought my IS from a guy about 20 miles NE of you about 20 years ago. Flew from San Francisco to Houston, Test drove it, paid the guy and headed back to CA. First time I ever drove a Valk,,,,,think I grinned all the way back to CA.

suggest u go to some goldwing 1500 forums and see if anybody ever had an issue. I've never read anybody having any, on the GW have millions on miles on the same clutch setup.

I have no worries about my clutch holding up. I am more just curious as to if anyone actually know that there are springs in the rear side of the clutch basket , presumably to absorb the radial shock for smoothness. The maintenance manual does not allude to these springs nor does the manual even show a picture of the back side of the basket showing the springs. Unless you have cause to remove the basket, you never know the springs are there.
