I have it on my wife's VTX and it works great.  High quality product.

I had heard that they won't work with Iso Grips, so I sold my grips to Alph (I wasn't giving up that expensive lock!). We compared the stock grip to the iso grip and they look identical. Can't say for sure, but I'm guessing they would work just fine with the brakeaway throttle lock.

I don't run arcoss to many of those BLK/orange Valks in my travels. My wife refers to my bike as my Halloween bike.
I do not know about the control covers, but I would assume that they are the same size as stock. You might want to email BigBF. He is the one that installed the breakaway and is very knowledgeable on Valkyries.

Fudgie,  It is a mechanical throttle lock like the Vista, but it has a cam that releases the lock when you touch the brake lever.  It also has a squarish button on bottom to set the cruise, and the long slender release button above that.  I had the Vista previously, but this one is much better if for no other reason than safety concerns.  You don't have to "think" to release the throttle if something happens to cause you to "grab" the brake,,,it's automatically released.

I have had that combo since early 2006 and love it. I had to turn down the ISO grip flange to (1.80)to fit inside the first BWs'........but I had heard they will now fit the ISO grips flush to the switch hsg. T.P.

Had it on my I/S and sold it on ebay......It works well ..sort of hard to adjust just right during the install, but once it is set up, it wokrs great. The only reason I sold it is that like all other throttle locks it doesnt really regulate the speeds on hills and such. Robin if I remeber  correctly, you are in Northern NJ and it is fairly mountainous there and I know you do some long distance riding , so give some thought to how well that FIXED throttle will serve you. PS- You can always tweek it up and down , but then why have a cruise control? I found that I used it when I had to take my right hand off the throttle for a few minutes but then I was rignt back on doing adjustments. Maybe just cause Im a picky pain the the butt engineer (per my wife, LOL) but I am now installing an Aduiovox cruise control , and hope to try it out this weekend and PS the Audiovox is less $. I heard they are discontinuing the Audiovox so if you opt to go for that , do it soon (Amazon.com -Css100)

Sure is expensive! But a better product than the "Vista Cruise".

I had a VC on my 98 standard and I still have a VC on my I/S.
I like the "rooster & Lock" far better than the VC but it won't work on the I/S.

I now have a C&L on my standard,...a simple and elegant solution, but it doesn't turn off like the "Brakeaway".

I have the breakaway and ISO grips as well. It take a little tweeking to get right but not to bad. Works well and best of all looks great too. Since  I redid my bike and show it sometimes I wanted something that would look good and function well on top of it.

I am installing it right now on my 99 i/s. It also will work with heated grips that have the internal wiring, for example: Heat demons.

Removing my Throttle Meister's for the heated grip reason, if anyone's interested in them, drop me a line. They work great, just incompatible with internal heated grips.

I have one I am no longer using. I paid about $200 for it, will sell for $85 if anyone would like one. I was very happy with it, but ended up installing a MCcruise control instead.  I had it installed with the Kury grips, worked fine.

Here is what I use on both ISs.  Just a throttle lock (not electronic cruise control), but beautiful billet and easy to install.  Cheaper than Brakeaway.  There is no auto shutoff on hitting the brake, but you really don't need that.  You adjust them to enough tension to hold the throttle, but you can manually override them to kill the throttle against minor resistance (or flip off the cam lock lever).

Work perfectly with Kury ISO grips.

Used in combination with the Kury throttle boss on the ISO grips, this is a nice setup.

Hey Garland, if you still have the Breakaway I'd like to have it.
