Thought I heard it all

So my phone rings. It was from somewhere in Florida so I decided to answer it.
WOW. It wasn’t a recording. It was a real person. No delay, no mechanical sounds or bleeps. So the lady explains that she’s calling from a government office and there is a National Advisory on my property.
I started thinking identity theft or title fraud. I was waiting for the “pay us thousands or lose your property”.
I had to cut her off and asked what is a National Advisory. She kept going on about the federal office and the seriousness of the problem. Again I said what is the advisory about.
After a brief pause she says they have notifications that some of my appliances are about to have serious issues.
I had to try not to laugh. I just said what bullcrap and hung up.
Unbelievable

She probably meant to ask if your refrigerator’s running

I keep getting the same foreign sounding gentleman telling me that my Dr. has informed them that I have serious back pain and in need of a medical brace. All I have to do is confirm my Medicare card # and they will ship it to me free. It's a different # everytime so can't block him but sounds like the same guy.

If I don't KNOW who the call is from, I never answer. If your caller ID is blocked, I will not pick up.
BTW, there is a little trick if you do decide to pick up a call you're unsure of. Pick up and listen, but don't say a word. If someone doesn't say hello or start talking in 4-5 seconds, hang up. Those are switchboard calls (from sellers of sh!t), and if you say nothing it doesn't get automatically sent to the next available salesperson.
