When I die & meet my maker there's two things I want to check out first...after I find out if I get to stay. First...is to check the angel's hair, I want to see if it bears any similarity to what I've been eating all these earthly years. Second is...I want to know where all the single lost socks and 10mm sockets have gone. There has to be a parallel universe inhabited only by lost sockets and singles of everything that comes in pairs.  Grin

It would not surprise in the least that everyone who tries wrenching his MC is missing at least 1 10mm socket, and maybe a few other sizes as well...

When anyone finds where that place is,  I will have a few 3/16  Allen wrenches and a some number 2 Phillips screw drivers there.

I've resurrected quite a few metric machines over the last few decades, and admittedly as far as I know never lost a 10mm or much of anything.  But I clean up every night.  Every tool is put back in the chest in the known spot.  And the next day one starts fresh again.

But, I have found a few tools over time.  Most were in front of the rear fender crammed in to a small space no one could see without some disassembly.  Always a bonus.

Last year I found a "unique" fuse I replaced on my newly acquired 80 CBX, and now hangs on my wall of shame.  I'm going to keep it though, just in case I need it at some point.  Smiley

6 years ago , I retired from a 35 year stretch of owning a lawn care business.  About 2 weeks before
the end ,was on a job ,I looked down and found the holy grail , a 10 MM wrench on the ground. Ran over it with my mower but never touched it. I took it  as an omen for good things to come. Other than afew doughnuts,it has been.

I don't lose tools, but I lose pocket knives.

I'll buy a half dozen cheap Smith and Wesson 3.3" pocket folders for general use, and put them in my work pants or clip to a pocket.  They end up out in the yard, the floor of the truck, getting washed in the laundry, or in a dumper full of leaves.  I usually find them, but eventually they slowly disappear.  I'm only down two from my current supply.   crazy2

I have better ones, but they don't get lost.

Those pesky 10mm sockets are so good at getting lost, that I think even a Bluetooth one will find a way to become lost.

This will only help a small handful of us but I heard that Mandami has vowed to make 10mm sockets and wrenches free and to make them available on demand. All busses will have a bucket full of each available to riders. All street corners will have socket and wrench dispensers. There may even be drone socket delivery’s for those who have limited mobility. Will this catch on nationwide, only time will tell!
