I think I have a solution if there's anyone like me that has wanted bigger speakers for the front of a Valkyrie Interstate.  I've had 3D printers for almost 9 years now.  For background, I'm a former Manufacturing Engineer with a lot of 3D CAD experience. I recently bought a blue laser 3D scanner to do some projects.  I got the bright idea to scan the pod mounting area of my Interstate and one of the pods to make a speaker enclosure based off of the pods that can hold a 6.5" speaker in each.

I have an extra set of Cicada CH65.2 2 Ohm speakers that I didn't use in my VTX 1800, so I plan on using these. If you're not familiar with them, they can handle 250W RMS each, 500W max and I have a Soundstream Picasso Nano PN4.5000DX 4 channel amp that CAN put out 450W RMS into 2 Ohm speakers.

Right now it's just an ugly box with the mounting surface angled to aim the speakers up toward the rider.  Everything mounts up and fits based on the 3D scan of the engine, engine guard, tank etc and according to the CAD structural simulation should be plenty fine for the weight of the speakers.  When I print one and check the fit, I'll try to make something closer to the original pod, or, at least more aesthetically pleasing (I'm not very artistic though  Grin.) I've never posted pictures, so I hope I did it right and the link works with OneDrive.

Nice to have someone with skills and new ideas show up on the scene.  I don't own one any longer but wanted to acknowledge your contribution.  Well done.

Interesting!
I  dabbled with some Valkyrie related cad projects about 10yrs ago when I had access to a 3d printer;
Alternator covers and such.
This is another level  cooldude

Would love to hear the results, guess enclosure should have foam jammed behind speaker  coolsmiley

It has 71cu in of airspace in each box.  I contacted Cicada and the tech says that since they’re designed for infinite baffle application, the more airspace the lower they’ll play.  I’m going to try with and without to see which sound I like better.  I’m also going to get the gains on the amp to only put out enough voltage to get 300W to them.  I have 200w going to the DS18 speakers I have now and that’s enough on the highway, but I’d like a little more headroom just in case.
