my age 24 kid is the exception got him hooked on cycles age 16 and on ATV's age 8.  He still has that 1997 honda magna 748cc bought for him for 1900 when age 16, but he wants to sell it and get a newer on-off road cycle, along with he bought for 2K a used 2009 kawi klr650 on off road cycle he drives 5xs more than the magna now.  He is into off roading more so than on road for some reason and has wipped out more than a few times on the klr650 off roading.

While I've never considered anything other than our older Valks, I'm still a manual shift kind of guy.   But, I've never ridden a bike with an automatic transmission so on that, I'm simply not qualified to make such a judgement.

The fact that it's offered on a Honda makes me feel more confident about such a choice.   Honda has always been about quality and reliability in my opinion.  I sincerely believe in the KISS method of vehicles.  (Keep It Simple Stupid) The more options added simply increase the things that can go wrong.   Would I be willing to try one?   Probably if the right situation presented itself but, I simply don't see me out living my current Valkyries.   This assumes no more (survivable) crashes.  Wink

Ironically, as the "Manual 'till I die" guy, I have owned (Via the spousal unit, but both times I rode it far more than she did) two Honda Silverwings...

I guess I didn't/don't consider it a "real" motorcycle even though you can tour on one, and it could do 120 even with my rather substantial carcass on board.

Both times we had one I often found myself choosing it for quick jaunts around town, it's just so quick and easy to ride, nimble and simple...

Honestly wouldn't mind having one again but probably wouldn't go out of my way to acquire one, unless the spousal unit so desires of course.
