Wait!   Is that patch/hole within an inch of the sidewall?

Just another potential reason.   Wink

 Cheesy

Also 2 or 3 string plugs glued together may not hold air and  may  blow out a few miles away

That is a 200 series Bridgestone Battleaxe    It had already had a string plug on the opposite side for a couple of years no issues

been thinking of using one of those string plugs in my scooter tire since tire is near new only say 1000 miles on it tops, not sure I trust it to last another 6000 miles of use though even if it holds air.  A plug patch from inside outta do but at 25 bucks per plug/patch being done at tire shop, the darn tire is only like 100 bucks anyways to buy new.

The one time in the spring I drove the scooter to work with road repair all around, I picked up a screw thru the rear tire and driving it home 35 miles felt squirrely pulling up into the subdivision only to find out I had ONLY about 15 psi pressure left in rear tire pretty darn flat, got lucky on that one.
