This be my LAST move!  crazy2 Downsizing aint all it's cracked up to be. BUT I can't see anyone helping with this as Only I know what needs to go-lotsa chit-and what needs to stay-subject to further review-and I've kept downsizing and the suject to further review pile keeps gittin smaller and the garbage cans keep gittin refilled!  2funny When Willow Springs switched trash services the company brought out their ugly azz green cans and I thoiught at that time that can be too frikkin big!  Lips Sealed Well bout a month or so ago I had em bring out 2 more and fer the last month or so I've managed to fill all 3 right to the top!  crazy2 Also needed to rent a storage unit and even with that added cost I've gained spendin money tween $400.00 and $500.00 a month!  cooldude BUT I've replaced a Lot of used up items with brand new and good used stuff. For my personal entertainment I now have a 65" flat screen and later on I'll shop a decent surround sound system!  coolsmiley I went from a 3 bdrm bath and a half house with a car and a half garage to  1 bdrm 1 bath apartment with a mucho smaller kitchen. Friend of mine found parking-inside-fer the G/W Trike and my tool boxes. Git the house cleaned out then I can start on emptying the garage.  Lips Sealed Oh joy!  tickedoff 20+ years of accumulation aint easy to sort out!  Undecided RIDE SAFE.

While I have not been in your position sir, I have thought about what you are having to consider.

I have been keeping stuff for several years now, mostly to have spare parts but also because I hate to throw good stuff away.

I hope you get it sorted and things go to a new normal.

As I said, I fully understand.  And I know I will have to made the same decisions in a few years.

been cleaning out my mom's house for over a year now

took 3 truck loads of stuff in August after having been removing a few boxes weekly

today I took the balance of her clothes home to give to charities and shelters

You are doing the right thing and while you can you are in charge

Glad you found a place for the trike Dennis

Now just have to get a buyer for the house.  Will list it on the MLS if no nibbles real soon

I wish you luck in your new diggs Dennis.

Keep what you need, and things that make you happy.

I have a small 3level split home paid off and all to myself, but the upkeep and maintenance gets harder as the years go by (especially the Fall leaves, which are kicking my azz).  And the taxes just keep going up.  I should sell and move, but I do not want to start all over again (after 35 years).

I go through spurts of cleaning out, throwing away and giving away.  Speaking of which, the Boy Scouts came by last week and said they were collecting nonperishable food and would I have any.  I said yes I would, and went though my kitchen and made a big pile of things (canned goods) I will never eat, wiped it up and put it out for pickup... and they never came.
