Try not to laugh too much anywho! Lady the sells me eggs is also an Army Veteran and bout 2 or 3 days before Veterans day she informs me that the West Plains Mo. Elk Lodge would be servung Veterans dinner. Said yuppers so we agreed to meet at the Elks Lodge and eat which we did. Evening of Good conversation with My friend and other Veterans. Seemed like it ended far too soon but It WUZ a GOOD evening. Drove home and decided to go on line which I did watching various videos with varying content. I must have been More tired than i thought I wuz as i not only fell asleep in the chair I fell outa the chair and my left elbow and middle left ribs broke the fall! I laid there fer a bit on the hard floor surface and waited til various areas of my anatomy checked and and got a sorta sitrep of my hurtin areas. I was NOT coughing up blood But it hurt to breath in exhale and cough or blow my nose. Left elbaow wuz leakin a mite But still functional. Went to bed and once settled in slept rather soundly. Then the fun started. Bladder checked in bout 0415 and DEMANDED a pressure relief! Gittin outa the fart sack held new meanings of pain tolerance. Got to the V A after breakfast with my Good Friend J T and more Good conversation. X rays have been taken but as of 1610 HRS today X rays have NOT been read yet. I've had fractured ribs twice before and this feels dang near identical! I'll update after I hear from my Dr. And YUPPERS wuz havin a real gooder day right up til I fell offin the chair! Said chair is an armles dining table chair. And NO I wuz NOT drinking alcohol as i know Better than to drink and drive or Ride! RIDE SAFE.

I set my computer up so I can sit in my LazyBoy.

Well, I'm glad you're still able to operate that keyboard. I haven't done what you did before but, I have sat down on the edge of a bed once resulting in my butt slipping off the edge and planting it squarely on my tail bone at the floor level. Yeah, my roomie laughed his ass off. Was a long ride home from that InZane.

Hope you just bruised your ego and didn't break your ribs. Even our damn furniture needs restraining devices. And to think we ride motorcycles!

Well i am STILL in the moving process! I WILL be looking for a comfortable office chair to put in front of the roll top desk I bought. NUTTIN WALLY WURLD though! As fer the saw bones aint heard from him yet! According to what my Dr. said hard to determine whether ribs a fractured or cartilage has been shifted or if ribs are just bruised. I have NOT increased my pain meds and all things considered I slept rather well last night! The "FUN" part is gittin in and out the fart sack! Once I git in the bed and settle in I drop off to sleep fairly quickly. Hit the rack bout 2300 HRS and got outa rack 0730 HRS ! And ONLY 1 bladder call! Pain sorta tolerable BUT iffin I'm feelin pain I just KNOWS I'm alive! RIDE SAFE.

Sorry to hear this. Napping @ desktop duly noted. A couple shoulder drops but still in a moving condition. Hope you do well with this setback of life. Momma after 36 yrs. decided to trip and fall into the back porch and break her arm 16 days ago. In a rehab place but we have Anthem Medicare plan that so far has been really great but I'm sure some bills are yet to come.

Glad to hear that things are not that bad but... it's still a problem.
I have never thought about using the VA since I have, what I thought, was adequate medical insurance from the government and my work and..... well, I am not sure any more. Will get my DD-214 and see what might happen.
Again, thoughts and prayers for you and a full recovery with little pain.

Well I took care of the chair situation. Office supply place in West Plains Mo. had a decent solid appearing chair fer right at $200.00 and I purchased it after a short test ride! Good lookin Young Lady was ringing me up and the owner came out just as I asked if they offered an old fart or a Veteran discount! He looks at the Y L and sez-take $25.00 off then figure taxes-so 12.5 % discount just fer askin!! You just KNOW wally wurld would NEVER offer that EVER! Havin to learn all over again How to compartmentalize the pain so as to git stuff done that needs done! Slowly but Surely it IS comin back to me! And THANKS for the well wishes and Prayers as those are Much Appreciated! RIDE SAFE.

I'm sorry but falling out of a chair while sleeping is funny (in a Bugs Bunny sort of way). To make sure this doesn't happen again, I suggest a seat belt for your chair. I wish you a quick recovery Dennis. As I advance in years, I spend more time than ever before thinking through all my activities beforehand, to try and not scrape, bang, stab, poke, fall, trip, etc. Because it takes longer than ever to recover. Today I spilled about a quart of gasoline on myself. When I got done cussing a blue streak, I laughed. Then I changed my pants.

I also use my VA benefits more than I ever did before. Actually, pretty good care once you get that appointment but, be prepared for long waiting times between scheduling and actually seeing the doc. They mail my prescriptions to me and send me reminders prior to me running out to ensure I check my needs. If you served honorably, you should consider using the benefit you earned. Rams

Mom had one of those lazyboy recliner chairs that lift you up and toss you out and a table that extends onto her lap for the computer before the Dementia got so she could not use a computer, tv or phone Make sure you do not get one of those Dennis and heal up well Oss and no rough stuff with the gals at the home

I hear that they make chairs with seat belts for that problem. Fall asleep in my chair all the time. I pray that you heal fast. https://hard-drive.net/gaming-chair-comes-with-seatbelt/
