Help, carb issue I think

There may be a carb rebuild in my future but this came on so sudden it must be something that is simple enough to at least be able to fix so I can take my bike for a ride. Had the carbs synced by a guy with a Digi-Sync and it ran great for about 100 miles. I put it away for the winter last year and when I brought her out this past spring all of a sudden it won't start and run without the choke/enricher maxed out and still runs like crap, barely stays running even after warming up. I replaced all six vacuum caps (the ones you remove to sync) because the guy said there were a few that were getting bad, no help. I did notice a drip of fuel coming off the float bowl on the rear right carb, not sure if that is new or not. Where should I start and what parts do I need to at least get it running? Thanks, Mike

The leak sounds like a stuck float. A tap on the bowl might free it up. The full choke issue sounds like the fuel dried up and clogged the low jets. Try running B12 or Seafoam in the tank. Mix it very strong. Put a whole can in a tank. Go ride it and vary the speeds.

If you “ put it up for winter” with ethanol gas and no fuel treatment. Your slow jets are gummed up. Most likely needs a whole rebuild of the carbs.

I completely rebuilt my carbs after cleaning them in an ultrasonic cleaner bike ran great for the whole season. I put it away and you stabil last winter in this spring she didn't want to run right. I ran a tank with some B12 and it solved the issue. While diagnosing the issue I also found that some of my header bolts were loose. As far as not running right after winter storage I would also suggest that B12 will help that issue but if your carbs are leaking the only thing that's going to help that is a rebuild. This winter I'm not going to put my bike away and just start it at least once a week instead.

If B12 does not work, you might try RXP. You usually can get it at Autozone or O"reilly's. You will probably have to ask for it because they usually keep it behind the counter.
