Scott, or whomever:

The 1st-thing-in-the-morning picture of myself, I use for my avatar, is squashed.  It is from photostash at 100px × 80px (scaled to 100px × 100px).  I've tried formats bmp, jpg, and png.  I see others that are not "scaled" located in http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/avs/...

Is it possible for an low-count poster to get my avatar to the .../avs/... address.  Is there a required secret hand-shake, under-the-table password, a Federal big-smile "CHANGE IS HERE!" salute, or, maybe, just a simple request?  Cheesy

An inquiring mind wants to know.  Thanks and  Evil

Crop it before you upload.  The software wants to make the avatar square.  Your original picture isn't square so it gets squeezed.

('course I tell you that and then notice mine isn't square, but it's likely the other way.)

See if this looks better...

[edit] It does... right click on it and save as. then upload it into your avatar...

Thanks for the replies.  I'll leave the funny? tidbits out this time.  I did the cropping, resizing, etc.  (BamaJack, thanks for the time and effort in redoing.)  I can see the software wants to make the avatar square.  I have noticed that not all avatars being used are square, though.  Looking at the Properties of these rectangular avatars shows these avatars are all located in http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/avs/...

If an avatar is being pulled from there to here, it does not get "scaled".  Can I get my avatar placed in that location?  I noticed most avatars located there are png's, so that's why I converted to that format.

I won't dwell on this any longer, if the http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/avs/... is a special place.  With Joe in the hospital, the economy, etc., etc., this is very, very trivial.

Get well, Joe!!!  Like the new site, but I've been using the Texas site for a year.  Hope everyone makes it through this economic lull and has a great life.  I'll be resetting to lurking mode, now.

The avatars in "http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/avs/..." location were probably uploaded to there while on the old board.  Scott said he has this function turned off in this software.  I'll wait to see if it is enabled.  I did get my weather resized to take up less space.  Thanks again Willow and BamaJack.  Now, I'll be lurking in the sun.   Cool
