It is 58 here and I have considered it just to say I did, like last year.

I was all psyched to do a front brake job. I thought the pads were looking thin. I got all the tools and stuff ready but when I took the calipers off I could see there was a bit more than 50% of the pads left. They are too expensive to change them at half way.

So instead I got a New Years Day ride in.  I challenged all three curves we have here in our town. Bike ran great and the weather is perfect for a few hours before it turns cold again.

Yesterday I did the same roads with the Healey.

So that’s my new tradition. Dec 31 is sport car day and Jan 1 is Valkyrie day  cooldude

Headed out yesterday (Low 60's and sunny) with KK to go to the local Wal Mart. Somehow the navigation on my Valk malfunctioned once again and we ended up an hour away at my aunt's farm out in the country...

Think I'll take at least a brief ride here in a bit on New Year's Day (69 and sunny) after we have our traditional black eyed peas, corn bread and greens...

Took KK for a ride on the Wing today, set up a weather station I got my mom for Christmas, then took KK through some country roads I grew up on that are covered in new mansions now... About 50 slow, relaxing miles...

Hope ya'll are having a great first day of 2026!

It was in the 60s here, so I got about 130 miles in.

We had a dusting of snow down here overnight, maybe a 1/4”. Sun melted most everything away by the end of the day. Still some in the shady areas.

It went up into the low forties today.  Not so long ago that was acceptable to me.  I've gotten older and the valk stayed in the garage.

71F here in central Tejas.  Put about 55 miles on the Valk on the local back roads.  It's running like new!

Had my ride all planned out.  The route planned checked the weather, looked over the trike for any issues, topped off the fuel and was ready to go on New Year’s day, the next morning.   Then it happened!

Just after the sun set a UPS driver pulled into my driveway.   What could this possibly be I asked myself..

The driver began his task and started unloading five very large cardboard boxes.  Oh my, what did she order now I asked myself.

In those boxes were some Japanese Holly tress and the instructions said to open the boxes ASAP to allow the trees to breathe fresh air and to plant ASAP.  I opened the boxes up but it was too dark to start this project then.

So the January 1st ride would have to wait till that was done.   Went out early to get started but had to wait a while for guidance on precisely where the trees were to be placed.   Didn’t want to dig more holes than absolutely necessary.   Guidance and supervision was provided and the task was accomplished (kind of).   Upon completion of this adventure, it was determined that a couple more Holly Bushes were needed to fill in the openings just below the windows of my shop.   Bushes would look very similar to the Holly trees now placed in the dirt.

It’s now mid-afternoon and my back and knees are killing me.   So I came back into the house to rest up some before hitting the road for some wind therapy.

Oh wait, “we” still need to take the icicle lights and Christmas decorations down out side.

Guess what happened to my New Years Day ride…….   Lips Sealed
