Was sitting here at work at 6:15a waiting on our print files to generate, so thought I might as well check the VRCC page and register.

We're registered and hotel booked for the week. Dud to hip limitations and no elevators, I had to ask for first floor accommodations. The guy that took the reservation request apparently has a limited sense of humor. He asked if I had any pets, told him "yes, she's a 5'3" blonde." He was quick to tell me he was talking about the 4-legged version and was a bit sharp. I'm thinking ok dude, get a life and loosen up cuz if that bothered you just wait until June.  Grin

EDIT:  We're debating bringing the trike. I'm familiar with the area since my parents retired to Arkansas and we can still use the car for traveling around GZ(ground zero). Our reason being we're thinking of continuing on to Texas after IZ and don't really want to tow the trike the extra miles without having a reason to use it. Nancy has a long time friend in Waco(back to their childhood) and my friend Carman in Ft. Worth...Carman has done all the leather work on my bikes and has also done some other more personal items as well. We've been good buds for nearly 20 years, he and April have spent some time in our home in Florida before I lost Rita. I had Carman's gold/black Valk in my garage for about 3 months while working on it, correcting issues created by others that had worked on it. Later, I believe it was the first Michigan IZ, he got an award in the bike show so I had to tease him about that, insisting I should get to hang it in my shop at least six months out of the year.  Grin

The standard room rate is $129 per night.  The price is the same for a king and double queen standard rooms.

Got it done.

Wanted and asked for a room on the first floor, supposedly I got one.

I did ask about additional discounts like Senior or Military/Veteran or Girl Scout discounts but No Joy there.

There are a lot of hotels in Eureka Springs.  For those who may not know, there are at least two good reasons to stay at ground zero.  One is that the hosting hotels provides us, the VRCC, toward the cost of use of facilities based upon hotel occupancy by our members.  Another is that so much InZane activity takes place at or from ground zero.

If you're attending InZane please stay at ground zero.  When you make your reservations be sure to tell them you are VRCC and attending InZane for the reduced rate.

What he said.   The few bucks one “might” save will not get the same quality room.   I’ve been there, done that.

Registered last night. Took two try’s! The, they, the bank, turned down my first credit card. The old standby card I use for everyday stuff was accepted. If not it was sure going to be embarrassing to call Rams and ask for his credit card info! He has already stepped up and secured our ground zero room, what a guy!

Discounts are hard to come by these days. I was at Kroger this week to pick up my most expensive prescription and was helped by a new hire who looked to be still in her teens. When she pulled up my name a look of concern came over her face. She said we have one ready for you, paused, and then told me, it’s going to be $196.00 today!!! I’m smiled my biggest smile and told her, “that’s why I came on half price Monday!” She looked dumbfounded and started looking around for help. I was still smiling my biggest smile and when help didn’t look to be forthcoming, she very meekly said, “I don’t think we have ever had one of those?” I finally let her off the hook and told her I must have been thinking about the Monday special at the doughnut shop. One of the regular girls pulled her off to side and filled her in on my sense of humor. She came back with my meds and said you had me going for a while.

Glad you got the CFO to agree.    Begging is not fun but one gets use to it.

We have to keep this on the down low, the CFO knows I’m going, she doesn’t need to know what it’s going to cost!

Save a room for me!  I can't register until I get back to Canada for a short little vacation before returning from this tour. For some reason the website and the bank are both having issues with a Latvian computer address registering for the event. Go figure. I get home on the 29th Jan for a 2 week break, then done mid-March. Route is planned there and back. Hoping to get a room at GZ, second floor works for me though. Still a little mileage left on my knees.
