Me Again,
I have purchased some Champion hard bags which will be installed on Monday by Champion. I had also bought the bag rails on e-bay (actually before I even bought the bike) and was wondering if I should install the rear bag rails this weekend before driving up to have the bags installed or will the rails go on easy enough with the bags already mounted? I don't want to make their job harder to install the bags but I also don't want to take the bags off to install the guard rails if that is required. Not sure if they have to undo those bolts that hold the fender to the chrome fender barces as they can be a basteadrd to get lined back up.
Anybody have any experience with this?

First, when removing those bolts in the fender rail, only remove one at a time on either side. Remove one and attach whatever you're doing and replace it, then go to the next one. As for the bag rails, leave them off until after the bags are mounted. Are they the Hondaline items or the aftermarket ones? Either way, they can be attached afterward.

I am reasonably certain the OE hardbag supports are not used to mount Champion bags, and the OE bag rails (which mount underneath the OE bag supports) will not mount with Champion bags.
I could be wrong here, but I have never seen a set of Champion Patriot hardbags mated with OE bag rails. When they were available, most got the U shaped Champion bag guards that mounted in front of the bags. Have you actually talked to Champion about your plans?
If the rails you bought were MC enterprises..... I have no clue on compatibility with Champions.

THESE ARE NOT MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE BAGS BUT THE GUARDS THAT SURROND THEM. i ASSUMED WHEN I BOUGHT THEM THAT THEY MOUNTED TO THE BIKE FRAME TO PROTECT THE BAGS SOMEWHAT. I JUST GOT THEM BECAUSE I LIKE THAT LOOK.
WELL ANYWAY I WILL WAIT AND IF I HAVE TO REMOVE THE BAGS TO GET THEM ON I'M SURE I CAN DO IT IT WILL JUST TAKE AN EXTRA 6-PACK.
IF THEY DON'T WORK AND YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BAG GUARDS I'LL BE POSTING THEM HERE IN THE FUTURE.

If so, I stand corrected Joe.
Do you know if the Champions use OE bag mounts and if this is a direct bolt up just substituting the bags, or are there some modifications that have to me made?
RALANDRY51, I am sorry if I have this wrong.
