16-0 Indiana was a phenomenal team in every game all year.  And a class act in a rough game.

Mendoza deserved the Heisman, and his fourth down QB up the middle for a 12 yd TD was heroic and the stuff of legends.

I didn't get to see Micheal Irving disappointment/tears live.  Grin Not a Hoosier fan whatsoever/ever but I admire Cignetti's tenacity at coaching. He's a very rooster sure individual. Love it! Does remind me a lot of Bobby Knight in this respect. That was very a disciplined team on display even when Miami started to show some fight.
They said Mendoza has 810 relatives in the Miami area.area.  Grin

I've been a Hoosier fan all my life ...saw the 76,81 and 87 National title wins.(my classmate Ted Kitchel played on the  81 team) never , ever would I have thought they would win a Natty in Football...and Cignetti IS the Bobby Knight of football ...and yes , this team has CLASS , it's what Knight expected and so does Cig..they both didn't necessarily have the top talent , but had players that were winners and knew their roles and had the drive to win and were coachable ...plus played as a TEAM !! Knight and Cignetti are geniuses in their sport !

Cignetti seemed to be overcome with emotion at the end of the game.  He actually smiled.

Two well coached teams.   IU was incredible in their whole team effort.   I’m not an IU fan but IMHO they were the best team and am glad they came out on top.
