They win the award for finding out. Learning the consequences of playing stupid games with the U.S.  Anti American leftists will cry all kinds of fowl but reasonable people all over the globe are with our president and support this action. Let’s pray a safer Iran emerges!

This has been said before.   The world will rest easier without a terroist country.  Iran has an opportunity to again be one of the most prosperous nations on this planet if, they figure out how to get along with the rest of the world.

Our biggest concern now in the US will be all the “Sleeper Cells”  Obama and Biden let in.
So, if you see something, say something.   Stay involved!

This. Very much this. Heads on a swivel.

I will admit, I'm sorta relieved the elder spawn dropped out of language school for the Army... She was learning Farsi (I.E. Persian. AKA Iranian)...

We may or may not ever really know what the answer to that will be in the near future. The FBI or DHS may release a report saying something along the lines of a group was found or a group has been dismantled but I don’t think we are in any imminent danger or threat.

I’ll bet for the most part any so-called sleeper cell members have become well accustomed to life here in the USA to give up a life of freedom and liberties they never knew back home.

A massive amount of credit for this also has to go to the people of Israel and their military. So much credit will go toward the United States but once again Israel is showing us it will work with us to clean up the mess and shoulder the massive burden. I hope for the best for all Israeli people.

I hope the job is done quickly and effectively, and then we get out like the operation in Venezuela. We don't need any more 20 year wars like Afghanistan.

It seems like Israel is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, which is impressive since they already have a lot going on in Gaza.

It’s been reported that Iran has connections and has used the Cartels in the past to get Iranians into our country.    Obviously, the Cartels are not happy with us.   Vigilance is IMHO warranted.

Mike, I agree with the "sleepers" becoming acclamated to freedom, but have to consider pressure from the native countries, being applied to family members at home.

Without a doubt vigilance is always warranted but I don’t believe we will see any severe repercussions.

What came across our borders in the previous administration is very troubling but Iranian funding has virtually disappeared in the last year and with the removal of Maduro cartels may not have an alliance with anyone who can’t foot the bill.

There is always that possibility, I can agree on that. What makes me wonder now though, who is calling who? How are messages getting out and who actually knows who or what assets are where. The chain of command has been broken and severely compromised. People in Iran are celebrating. If there are foreign assets here, then their families know just why they’re here and IMO are part of the problem. I don’t believe people are rounded up over there and told you go here, wait for our call and do this when we say or else your family gets it.

Now I may be wrong but I would think Iranian terror leaders want volunteers to faithfully follow orders not those under duress and may crack under pressure.

Yeah, agreed.  Agents are most likely not rounded up.  I was thinking along the lines that once a person is id'd as a potential candidate by showing allegiance, they are chosen and trained, then notified they'll need to tow the line, or else.

Or, maybe like in the movies, they get the phone call and the "Special" word and off they go.  Wink

Another aspect that needs to be considered is the Chinese issue.

China is the biggest importer of oil from both Iran and Venezuela which leaves Russia as their major source for petroleum.   We are gradually pushing China out of our hemisphere and now the Middle East.   How this ends is anyone’s guess.   Will the flow of oil to China have significant impact on our relationship with us?   I suspect this will have a significant effect and how this is handled will be huge in our foreign policy.

This is a world changing event, I would remind folks that the only way this can end with a new and friendlier Iran is with total destruction of the current regime similar to what happened in WW II.  Those nations totally defeated are now allies.

It’s also kind of important to note that the agencies to protect the homeland are currently not funded.  Consider that.

The implications of this are far reaching and the results will not be measured in weeks or months but probably years. Long term change doesn’t happen in an overnight campaign.

Unfortunately this will depend on the people of Iran, the sacrifices and loss they are willing to accept as necessary for the future of their country. This will be a revolutionary moment for them and there will be embedded regime loyalists that will attempt anything necessary to retain their power. The people will have to fight for what they want and there will be loss of civilian life in that fight because those in charge, those radicals who want to keep that country in the Middle Ages will not go without a fight.

I believe this country once knew democracy on some level, maybe not what we have here but certainly not what they’ve been living under since ‘79 and I’m not suggesting the Iranian people should model themselves after our country but something has to be better than living under the rule they now have. The people there want freedom. What freedom they want, well I don’t think anyone really knows, it may very well be a western style way of life, but maybe not as nutty as we are now…possibly a bit more conservative.

The squeezing of Japan for resources (petroleum among others) was one of the reasons Pearl Harbor happened.

Hopefully not, but I overlooked the singular terrorist scenario, I was more focused on large scale attacks that have previously occurred around the world like bombings. I was not anticipating solo shootings or attacks like this and don’t think this guy was actually planted here as a terrorist with instructions, read he came in under Obama.

As everyone here on this board can attest, one of our best.

Many factors led to Japan's decision to attempt to eliminate the USA influence in the Eastern Pacific, but mostly stemmed from their aggression on their neighbors, similar to present Iran.

We can't just round up all native Iranians and Muslims due to threats from organized or lone wolf terror, so everyone needs to be vigilant and responsible of their surroundings.

We're all waiting for the other shoe, or sandal, to drop, from Iran.

If they got anything, it should be soon.

This is somewhat related. My sister likes to vacation in far away, exotic places. She's been sightseeing in Egypt for a week, and was scheduled to travel to Jordan in a few days. Her plans changed over the weekend, even though her Jordan hotel offered a nice upgrade! I'll stick with motorcycle trips in the USA.
