After nearly 2 months of frigid, snow and ice, we got a full sun 60s.  Everything thawed out, roads clean and no salt.

Got out early (still cold) and rolled the bike out, wiped it down, topped up my gas, added a few lbs to both tires.  She gave me a hard time starting which never happens, but once I got gas in the carbs (mashed choke and throttle), she fired right up.

Still wore full leathers but no long johns needed.  It always gets a bit colder out West at higher elevation in horse and farm country where I ride.  Left at 11A, returned at 4:30P, couple hundred miles.

Man there were more bikes out than I usually ever see, and everyone happy, smiling, waving and thumbs up.

I stopped a couple times and kicked tires with small groups of other riders.  Lots of older guys like me. We talked about this and decided the younger crowd doesn't ride, they stay indoors and play computer games.

One fellow got his bike knocked over by a backing car, and the driver would not get out or even roll down the window, and then took off (dickweed).  He got a cell phone pic of the plate, called the cops, and then they discovered the store cameras had the whole thing on tape.  While I'm talking with him, the cops called him back on the phone.  His bike was scraped up a little, but fully rideable.

You know, trips to Walmart, Home Depot and the grocery stores are not a "day out".  Yesterday was a wonderful day out of the house.  I had such a good time I celebrated with 4 beers (which I do maybe twice a year), and got shitfaced like a teenager.   2funny

Well, I didn’t partake of any spirits but have gotten out the last few days to ride.   Enough miles on my bikes that I had to go to the fuel station and fill three Six gallon fuel cans after topping off all three fat ladies.   My pickup also was in need of fuel.   Decided to fill every fuel cell I have before the price of fuel climbs again.  We all know that’s coming.

Sound like a great day. We’re still loaded with salt and melting snow all over the place.

Next week a nice warm up coming and hopefully a few days of rain to help wash away the salt.

Yesterday was nice here but only a high of 56 or so but the sun was nice. My front lawn is starting to appear.

Me too Dennis.  My feet especially hate cold and wet.

It is Ron, except I didn't post pictures of all the traffic and lights I have to ride through to get to and from there.

Craig, looks like some rain this week and possibly 60's Sunday, so it's looking good.

Still tons of snow on the tree belts, so salt laden run-off streams and puddles in the road may be the only issue.

Time to change the clocks again, always welcomed in the spring.

Hey Bill, yeah it’s coming. We gotta get together this year for some rides.

It's the best riding I've ever had Digger, and I've been doing it for 35 years and know it like the back of my hand.  It never gets old (compared to the traffic/traffic light nightmare I live in).

The mountains in SO CAL were pretty good too, and I can go on out to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive for Eastern Mountains if I want to (although that becomes an 8-10 hour day, and longer than I like these days).

Skyline Drive.
