This is my second set of Kuryakyn 4050 Highway Pegs. When I sold the bike previously I also sold off the accessories but now that I have it back I've had to, once again source the bits I really like and I really like these pegs. In the pic you can see where I've positioned them. Ideally I'd want to stretch my legs out further but because of the length of the arm "A", I can't. Do you know if Kuryakyn do a shorter arm for these pegs? (Yes, I could always ask them). If I move the arm up to its next position it sits too high for me as it goes from "1" to "2". Anyone else use these pegs in a different position or are most of you happy with the configuration I have at present? One of the disadvantages of having them low is they'll be more susceptible to scraping but they are higher than the lower engine guard which Kuryakyn recommends in their fitting instructions. I have tried them in position "2" but they feel a bit uncomfortably high for me.

I have those same Hwy pegs, and mine are up higher at #2. And I have short legs (29" pants inseam), and have no trouble reaching them with comfort. I can put my foot on the pegs or slide my boots over them with legs extended straight out. Remember that if moving the peg position up with the arms, you may also need to rotate the pegs a little for optimal foot position on them
I would not like them as low as #1 as they are more susceptible to dragging in leans/turns, although in my older age I tend to never use them in twisty roads riding and only more straight and level cruising. Hwy pegs for me are as much about changing the pressure points on my butt and back as they are about stretching my legs out.
One other thing you can try (for adjustability of foot position) is to loosen the big 4 screw clamp and slide it back a little bit away from the guards.

Appreciated. Yes, I'll shift them up to position 2 and give them a try out. You're right about the chances of scraping that low done. Thanks.

I have the same pegs, and have them the other way around: Note that I measured from the rider's pegs forward to the mounts, so that the highway pegs would be the same distance from the seat. My inseam is 30", and I can relax with feet on pegs, or boot heels on top of them; I also have a rider's backrest, so I can lean against that with my feet up.

Also note from WintrSols' picture that he slid the big 4 bolt clamp back (right near his shifter buddy).

Yeah, near the aft end of the bar. Note also that, when folded, the peg pictured is just behind the forward valve cover bolt, while the other is nearer the center bolt, because of the offset in the heads. With it mounted this way my legs do sometimes contact the (hot) head covers, but I notice fairly quickly.

What about Kuryakyn Ergo short arms? About 80 bucks, though.

Mike is right. I had the 4 inch arms which were perfect for me. 32 inch inseam measurement.

Yes, I forgot to mention that above.
With my Hwy pegs (like yours) mounted at #2 and feet on the pegs, I never have a problem. But when I run my boots over the pegs with legs out straight, I routinely contact the hot valve covers with my calves (ouch). I can shift my feet out wider on the pegs to get off the hot spot, but mostly I just don't slide my boots over the pegs at all because of this.
