This man and his unit braved certain death and prevailed and HE Earned the Navy Cross.

the second highest honor for Battle he could have recieved.

He and his Humvee Crew killed 20 Insurgents and wounded about that many as well.

The soldiers were cought in a cross fire and had to fight there way out.

He is a Marine and they don't retreat.

Here is the story straight form Snopes . com.

Thats why I ride Patriot Guard.
Send offs and welcome homes are the best.
Insulating greiving familys from idiot protesters is overwhelming.
I took more time off last year to honor these brave folks than I did for anything else.
NOT tootin my horn. If youve never done it, its the best reason I've ever had for ridin.
In 37 (?) years of ridin.
Thank you.

That's a good article on snopes about this. It's unfortunate they don't publicize the vast majority of these stories, and the government only chooses to bestow Medals of Honor on the very few who's stories are "media-friendly" enough to publicize, after the serviceman has died.

I think there are tons of heroic stories coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan, but unfortunately, no one in the government cares.

I have also ridden wiht the Patriot Guard and it's was one of the most rewarding acts if kindness

I have ever done.

Getting goose bumps as I type this letter.

Get involved they don't care if you ride a Moped in this group.

Just be respectful of the sodiers relatives and survivors of his/her family.

Sometimes these are are small children's mothers or fathers you are riding for.

So if yo are retired,  disabled, or just have time on your hands and want to ride.

It's a great thing to do to support those that keep our freedoms alive.
