« on: February 27, 2010, 11:14:14 AM »

QOTFU and I got to talking about doing something between the Mid Winter ride and GOTF in mid April. So we've decided to make a run up through the bluebonnets to raise our winter spirits and then hit Sodolak's in Snook Texas to raise our cholesterol levels.    Cheesy   Tentatvie plans as of now, are to meet up in Hempstead on 290 @ FM1488 at the Exxon/McD's on Northbound side of Hwy at 0800hrs.  KSU@ 0830hrs.  Ride the trail starting in Chappell Hill area and break off to head to Snook to arrive at 1100hrs when they open to beat the local crunch.  After eating, if we can get back on the bikes,    uglystupid2   we'll head back to the bluebonnet trail and finish it up ending back in Chappell Hill area again.   We should be through early enough to allow most everyone to get back home before it's too dark.   If you plan to go with us, just post here or email me (HrdDrvnMan@aol.com) or Maris (MarisM@aol.com)  so we'll know how many to expect.  I'll call the restaurant to give them a heads-up so they'll be sure to have enough bacon    Wink   This map show the trails, we'll take the northern one.   http://www.lone-star.net/wildflowers/lagrange.htm   And to whet your palate,, from Youtube,,,
Chicken Fried Baconpowered by Aeva

If it rains, we won't be going since Maris seems to have developed a serious aversion to wet roads for some reason.   Roll Eyes    Let's Ride !   cooldude

Wizard and I should be there!!  I love the chicken fried bacon.  Also known as fat, dipped into fat, fried in fat, and served with a side order of fat.  What's not to like?

Roadqueen and I took a short ride out to the Bluebonnet route Saturday.  Had to notice that gas was 20 cents/gal  higher ( $2.69) in Hempstead at the Exxon meeting place than it was in Magnolia when I fueled that morning before leaving out.  You might want to fuel before you get there.

Right now if everyone who has said they "probably" will go makes it, there'll be around 24 on 14 bikes.

We're leaving our house at approx: 7:00 AM (3130 Pheasant Trail Dr, Sugar Land, TX 77498) We'll make a pit stop at the gas station NE corner of I-10 and FM 359 in Brookshire (it's a Shell) to meet up with anybody from Houston or Katy area.  We should be there around 7:45 AM. Feel free to meet at either location, just let me know if you plan on doing that so we don't take off without you. We need a head  count to let the restaurant know how many to expect.

Cancel me from the ride.  Seems that grand kids got in the way and Grandma decided that we were going to go visit them for the Easter weekend.

Have fun.

We're planning to try to save the route so we can re-run it after Roboto65 gets in off the boat.  It'll be on a weekday, I'm sure.  You're welcome (of course) to join us.
