QOTFU and I got to talking about doing something between the Mid Winter ride and GOTF in mid April. So we've decided to make a run up through the bluebonnets to raise our winter spirits and then hit Sodolak's in Snook Texas to raise our cholesterol levels.    :D   Tentatvie plans as of now, are to meet up in Hempstead on 290 @ FM1488 at the Exxon/McD's on Northbound side of Hwy at 0800hrs.  KSU@ 0830hrs.  Ride the trail starting in Chappell Hill area and break off to head to Snook to arrive at 1100hrs when they open to beat the local crunch.  After eating, if we can get back on the bikes,    :uglystupid2:   we'll head back to the bluebonnet trail and finish it up ending back in Chappell Hill area again.   We should be through early enough to allow most everyone to get back home before it's too dark.   If you plan to go with us, just post here or email me (HrdDrvnMan@aol.com) or Maris (MarisM@aol.com)  so we'll know how many to expect.  I'll call the restaurant to give them a heads-up so they'll be sure to have enough bacon    ;)   This map show the trails, we'll take the northern one.   http://www.lone-star.net/wildflowers/lagrange.htm   And to whet your palate,, from Youtube,,,
Chicken Fried Bacon

If it rains, we won't be going since Maris seems to have developed a serious aversion to wet roads for some reason.       Let's Ride !   :cooldude:

Wizard and I should be there!!  I love the chicken fried bacon.  Also known as fat, dipped into fat, fried in fat, and served with a side order of fat.  What's not to like?

Not just Food Bandit, but CHICKEN FRIED BACON appetizer followed by some of the biggest Texas steaks you've locked a lip around   :D  You never need an invitation to come over the border and dine with us.  Get your passport and visa stamped and let's eat  :cooldude:  We might ride some too   ;)

Roadqueen and I took a short ride out to the Bluebonnet route Saturday.  Had to notice that gas was 20 cents/gal  higher ( $2.69) in Hempstead at the Exxon meeting place than it was in Magnolia when I fueled that morning before leaving out.  You might want to fuel before you get there.

Are any of the DFW folks gonna make it down?  :)

None from up north has made any comment regarding this ride at all,,,    :(

Right now if everyone who has said they "probably" will go makes it, there'll be around 24 on 14 bikes.

I would love to make the ride but I am working the day before and I dont get off work til 7 am that morning dont think I can make it from Arlington in an hour... May have to see if I can take half a day off.. Long ride through treacherous country at night, even on a dragon..

QOTFU

We're leaving our house at approx: 7:00 AM (3130 Pheasant Trail Dr, Sugar Land, TX 77498) We'll make a pit stop at the gas station NE corner of I-10 and FM 359 in Brookshire (it's a Shell) to meet up with anybody from Houston or Katy area.  We should be there around 7:45 AM. Feel free to meet at either location, just let me know if you plan on doing that so we don't take off without you. We need a head  count to let the restaurant know how many to expect.

Brenda emailed me, and asked if we could add about 8 more bikes and riders from the Lonestar Rider's Club to our little get together.    Six days and counting  :cooldude:  Hope Sodolak's has enough bacon for that many people     :D   :2funny:

We're planning to try to save the route so we can re-run it after Roboto65 gets in off the boat.  It'll be on a weekday, I'm sure.  You're welcome (of course) to join us.

Sodolak's was called today, and given fair warning of our impending arrival this Saturday.   :D  On a side note, after this phonecall, pork belly futures were UP today in trading.       :crazy2:    Saturday's weather forecast is for clearing sky, and high in upper 70's.  :cooldude:   Still time to get onboard !  Just 2 more days 'til Bacon.   8)
