Day 16 – 07/03/09 --- 83 Miles (Jasper Tramway and Miette Hot Springs)
41 at 7 AM --- 74 at 5 PM
We rode out at 9:30 AM and took the Jasper Tramway up Mount Whistler. We walked part of the way to the top and to view Mount Robson (8 km away) and Jasper. Then we rode to Miette Hot Springs to meet Mike, the VRCC Alberta Chapter Representative. On the way had to stop on Canada 16 for Big Horn Sheep crossing the highway. Miette road was a beautiful, winding mountain road. We met Mike at the end of the road, had lunch and walked to the site of the original hot springs and to the source of the hot springs. After returning from the walk, Mike gave me an Alberta VRCC cap. It was great spending time with Mike. Hopefully, we will meet him again someday. We returned to Jasper and Fiddle River for supper and packed up to begin our trip back east.
