Gilligan and Navigator - Wherever we ended up

Southwest Indiana

Day 21 – Day 25 – (7/08/09 – 7/12/09) --- 1,491 Miles (Regina, Saskatchewan to Evansville, IN)

We had planned to ride to Kenora, Ontario and into Minnesota to follow the Great River Road from the Mississippi headwaters to St. Louis.  Due to weather and fatigue, we decided to ride straight home.

This was our last journey on a motorcycle.  We sold the Valk in August.  After 10 years and 88,742 miles of 2-up touring on our Valk, we look back on the exciting adventures we experienced together, the beautiful places we saw, and the good people we met while riding through 48 US states, 5 Canadian provinces and 1 Mexican state; and we conclude that it was the best of times.

                                                  Ride Safe, All.

Carolina Girl and I have really enjoyed this ride report. It has brought back some great memories. I admire you and Navigator for the travels you had together 'cause I know from experience it aint all fun. But the good times are more than worth the miles of riding in inclement weather and other unpleasant experiences. We have only traveled in 19 states and 3 Canadian provinces. The good Lord be willing we will add to those totals. Thanks for sharing and give your wife our regards.  cooldude

Gilligan,

I must say this has been one of my favorite posts, the first one I look for each day.  What a great
way to see so much beautiful land, on a bike and with your best friend.

Thanks for sharing,

Popeye

Spirited-6, Normandog, Popeye, highcountry, thanks for your responses.  I shared your comments with Navigator too.  We will post some of our other trips some time.  We look forward to more posts of your rides.

If any of you ride through Evansville, IN, please let us know.  We'd love to provide a night's food and shelter and talk about long-distance motorcycle touring.

Ride Safe, Brothers.
