Youtube will not play smoothly, keeps on buffering every few seconds.

Yep, I've cleaned out my cookies 'n other stuff. Run my AdAware, Spybot etc to clean out the crap that gets dumped onto the hard drive.

Suggestions please.

The download can not stay ahead of the player..........

When I was on the old phone line setup, I'd open the youtube, and watch the little line as it was down loading.    When it got 1/2 way, I started the wave.

Since I'm on cable now, I no longer have that problem.

Basically, your internet isn't fast enough to keep up with the streaming video. Go to Speedtest.net and do a "speed test" on the server nearest your location. If your pulling down significantly less than your should be (what internet connection are you paying for) than you need to contact your local Internet Service Provider and figure it out.
Alot of times a real loss of bandwidth (internet connection) can be caused by a wiring problem, faulty dsl filters, or a malfunctioning modem and/or wireless router. Check speedtest.net and you should have an idea. If none of this makes sense to you, you can gimme a call. Number is in your inbox.

Sometimes ole Mr Windows jsut can't get it right no matter what you do.

Just did  a complete recovery on the ole Compaq and lost a lot of good photos

But the computer is working like it's on steroids now.

I'm sure some of us might remember the Old Telephone Party Lines when we shared a connection with 3 or 5 other neighbors.
Well, Cable Internet is somewhat similar in that the more users using at a given time will reduce connection speeds in your area. Prime slow down times are generally 3pm - 10 pm.

Wi-Fi & ATT's fiber optic supply lines fair much much better for consistent high speed. They don't bog down like cable does.
