Hello,

Looking at getting risers for an '03 Standard.  In the past I've seen discussions on risers that don't cover the triple tree hole (Lamounts????) completely, and one brand that cracked(???) or was a bad batch(??).  What are the latest recommended brand(s).

I'm tall, but more upper body than legs.  I'm just looking for a small rise and small pullback for comfort.

Thanks,

Had these on my bike for over a year, work great and look great. They lift and set back the handle bars. They are also the max adjustment you can do with out replacing the cable and hydrolic line. Made a world of difference in the comfort factor   Cool

+1 for Scott's post above.  I put those on my bike and were one of the best investments.  6'1 215lbs sure does help the upper shoulder blades out!!!

Scott, Stude31,

Thanks for the info.   Do they cover the mounting hole completely on the triple tree head?

Get a helper to give you a hand to not risk the possibility of the bars slipping and denting or scratching the tank.  If you leave the tank on cover the tank w/ a few towels and you will be good.  I love the risers and they look sharp as well!!

Ok, thanks.  Just double-checking as I recall a few years ago there was an issue with the fit.  I don't remember the brand though.

Harley Deuce risers work well.  You have to do a little mod to 'em but they work.

Aeromach and Lamonster made (still make) the identical risers (some dispute over who was first).  One of these, when first issued, would not entirely cover the TT holes, but this was remedied shortly thereafter (this was years ago).  You will like these risers....a direct swap of OEs, but you must turn the plastic wire clips on the back of the bars around 180* (gives the wires more room).  It's always good to use a little copper antiseize on the riser bolt threads.

I agree and I have them also.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the stock risers are already 3.5 inch.  If you want something taller, then you'd want something a little longer.

I got a free set of stock rises off of a freinds VTX1800 that worked real well on my I/S and the pull back and rise was about all you could use without changing cables and such.

I got some 4" ones a couple years ago that raised the height about 1/2" and increased the pullback about the same. Real comfortable now. Elbows were almost locking with he old ones and now they are a relaxed slightly bent position now. They were the same style as the stock ones, got 'em off ebay.

Dear Mr. Bubbles,

Which VTX1800 model are your risers from, and do you have pics?

Thanks,

DFG
