I'm not sure what your objective is, but National Cycle makes these functional hand protector things...

Rattlebars - Heel toe kickshifter, mine is out of the 1st production run.

I have the above with my Cobra floorboards.

Some  people don't like Cobras, but other than the chrome peeling on the lower edges, I haven't had a problem with them.
Windshield, don't have a clue, but I know several people who have changed theirs out.

One of them will probably jump in on the shield.

I've had both the RattleBars and the Kury heel/toe shifters. Both removed and sold,....put a CBR1100XX shift lever on my I/S and am far happier.

The heel/toe shifters can and have caused the shift forks to bend when used forcefully. I have seen the results twice when the shifter pressure was excessive. The results of shift fork damage is quite expensive as it requires a teardowon of the motor to replace them.

I feel that practicing proper shifting will help you in the long run. With that said, my 98 standard does shift easier than my 2K I/S.

I have a heel toe on the Shadow. I hate it. The dayummmm thing will get caught in my heel and
automatically down shift. The shadow is for sale (cause I have a Valk).  I havent cut it off cause maybe the next owner would want it. I hate it and would never have another heel toe shifter cause I hate it.
Did I say I hate it?

Hot Rod,
The CBR1100XX shifter is a just a bit longer and it has sort of bend in it that makes it a little easier to get my size 11s over/under the lever.

Since installing the CBR shifter I've never had to force a shift or miss a shift either.

I do not have floor boards, but if I did, I'd get the cobra "Fast Boards".

I like it, but thats me I guess.

I'm 6'4" and the standard Tourer windshield was not tall enough, so I replaced it with a Rifle, which they will custom make to any height for you.  I chose their largest size, which is also considerably wider than a standard Tourer windshield, which is why I mention it. To give you an idea, it completely covers the turn signals. They give you the option to cut out for the turn signals, but I chose not to because I wanted to block as much air as possible.  The best solution for you is probably an outfit in Canada that sells clamp-on side extensions (www.cyclemore.com) that would comes out far enough to push the air around your hands. At least they do with my windshield).

Re. your board/shifter request, several years ago, I bought a MC Enterprises set like the ones going on ebay for $379 from JC Whitney (JCW has since discontinued them, however). I put them on the bike, rode around the block, and immediately removed them.  They've been in a bag in the garage ever since.  The problem for me was my height. With a 36" inseam, I had to scrunch my legs up so much to use the shifter that it was uncomfortable. If you are interested, I'll sell the complete kit for $100 under the ebay price. However, if you are tall like me I would not recommend it.
