Hangin' out here beats a tree on the head any day!

Just got back from the local Honda shop. They said they would probably only get ONE of the new Fury bikes…the new Honda Chopper. OMG, here we go again. ONLY one. That’s what they said about the Runes 6 years ago. ONLY ONE…per dealer. Same crap. And of course, we NOW know that was absolute BS. It’s just a ploy to try and get people to panic over supply and demand…and go down and plunk down retail to get one……….THE ONLY ONE…….at their dealer………..yea……….

in the end....while Runes MAY NOT be as abundant as other bikes....there were certainly more than Honda made out to be made...and....MUCH more...than ONE at most dealers!

I just looked at the Sales person.....and they grinned and said "yea, we know YOU aren't falling for that line........"  Cool   Roll Eyes

I will wait until 2012 and buy a 2009, new in the box, for about $8,000.   Roll Eyes

Or less....  and if it's a used one, it might be dressed up some for even half that.

Nice looking bike with some innovative engineering, but............................... I always thought that "choppers" or "customs" were supposed to be more or less home-built.  ???
But what do I know?

One thing for sure, if I was in that market I'd buy a Fury over ANY of the other so-called "custom" factory built bikes. No brainer there!

Hey Honda!!
Remake & update the finest cruiser EVER made! How about a 2 liter EFI F-6, 6 speed, updated Valkyrie??
Now THAT would get me off my wallet!

Doesn't impress me.  Why can't they just make the old Valkyrie again?  Angry

I wonder if they would sell me the bike less engine as a rolling frame and a then a four cylinder sport bike engine to shove into it.
That would be cool!  cooldude
I could make my own 750ish Chopper.  Evil

Big, I have that idea in my head too.
Later this year I'm going to get a "distressed" '01 up VT750 Shadow Spirit, strip it down, extend the forks, then rip out the anemic V-twink. Gonna get a "wrecked" late 90's Nighthawk 750 & transplant the engine into the modified Spirit frame. The reason I want to use the VT750 is they look great cut down & "chopped". Lots of neat aftermarket goodies available for them too. The Nighthawk 750 has an updated CB750 engine that makes significantly more HP than the VT750. Also has a hydralic valvetrain & uses the same 525 size chain.
I've done dozens of V8 transplants into cars & trucks where they didn't belong over the years with good results so I think I may be able to pull this one off too. We'll see how it goes!
I'm a real fan of the inline 4 Hondas {especially} & I've been itching to fabricate SOMETHING again.
I think it will be fun!  laugh

Somebody elses inline 4 "chopper".

Always like the looks of those in a chopper.  The chain could be troublesome....
