You must make a lot more $ than I do.   Shocked

The bill applies an increased Medicare payroll tax to the investment income and to the wages of individuals making more than $200,000, or married couples above $250,000.

Hey Doc... does the new gub'mint deal cover Dental?  If so... I'll be able to afford to schlep out to Crawfordsville and have YOU work on my chompers...

Seriously... they are allowing the Bush tax CUTS to sunset.  That ALONE is a HUGE tax increase.  Not to mention all the other ones that will slip in.

The ONLY way to be able to keep track of it all is to go FairTax.

jabba, sadly it will never happen.

i'm thinking that if it did, you'd end up paying more in taxes 'cause the states could put "fee's" on anything and it's not a tax then.

I am not saying that with the FairTax we'd pay LESS taxes.  But we could keep track of them.  Which we can't do now.  Plus, we imbed a LOAD of taxes on out goods produced here, and THAT makes us VERY uncompetetive globally.

I would just like people to KNOW how much they pay in taxes... if they did... our electorate would not be doing the crap they are doing... and that's exactly WHY they won't go FairTax.

Jabba thanks for the website and its a interesting concept but it will never happen. We cannot even get the Federal Reserve to disclose what its doing with our money how we will get something like this passed?
HR 1207 - Audit the Federal Reservepowered by Aeva

The National debt could be taken care of if we would start to get the interest off our money that the Federal Reserve gets. We really dont have control of this country the Feds print the money, the congress and local governments vote their own way, Congress will not pull the courts back from making their own rules and laws against what the people want and last, well lets just say the the American public doesn't do squat.

Here's the rollcall of who voted how, so we know who to target for removal:

NO Republicans voted for the house bill last night. Even the RINO's came through on this one...

GOOOH stands for 'Get Out of Our House' and is pronounced like the word 'go'. It is a NON-PARTISAN plan to evict the 435 career politicians in the U.S. House of Representatives and replace them with everyday Americans just like you.

The unfortunate part is that, because of the verbage in the bill, by the House passing the "Amended" Senate bill, they passed the Senate bill essentially. I am not exactly sure how it works, but I believe that the Senate can vote down the amendments and it will turn out the same as if the House passed the original Senate healthcare bill.

The 219-212 roll call Sunday by which the House passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

A "yes" vote is a vote to pass the bill.

Voting yes were 219 Democrats and 0 Republicans.

Voting no were 34 Democrats and 178 Republicans.

There are 4 vacancies in the 435-member House.

Link is to the roll call, remember who voted yes!

I'll see if I can find the vote tally sheet again.........

Found it.     Click on the column State and it will put them in order, go to your state and ya know who to vote against when they come up for reeelction.

Click on the party and it will list all of them together in state sequence if ya did the state sort 1st.    Well it did it that way on my look see.

If you honestly think that is the only thing happining to pay for this, your kool-aid was out of the mojo can.
Medicare and medicade are cut, along with raising taxes by the sunset provision, and REQUIRING people to sign up. The way to make you pay is give the IRS the keys to your account.

Oh, I believe it. I think that this bill will bring out the best in some (IMO those fighting against it), and the worst in others (those who don't agree with it, and act out). This is only the beginning. Lost in the heathcare headlines, they also "reformed" student finance.

Mikey:

It is a 940 BILLION Health bill, not 940Million.  So, it is about 1/2.

The problem is, they are using the same Medicare cuts to "save" Medicare.  The CBO even said they are double counting.

Once the government has any control of health care the outcome is easy to see. We will slowly start seeing all “out of the norm or dangerous behavior” taxed or worse. We’re talking horseback riding, motorcycling, skydiving, ultralights, bmx, water and snow skiing. It will never end and each time they somehow restrict us it will be portrayed as the last time they are doing it. Then it will start again. Just as was done with tobacco, seatbelts and on and on.

We will eventually be forced to have physicals with the government appointed physicians. If these yoyos think you’re overweight you’ll be penalized. If they think you need some kind of treatment for high blood pressure, cholesterol or whatever you’ll have to do it or else there will be some kind of punishment. It won’t matter if you are concerned about side effects, or wither you agree with the doc or not. I would even bet that eventually what you buy at the grocery store will be kept track of by the government to make sure you are only buying doctor approved foods. With cash all but disappearing it would be easy for them to do.

Maybe I’m distrusting but that’s where I see this crap heading in the next 20 to 30 years if it’s allowed to stand. I’m hoping it will be declared unconstitutional in the courts.

As Daniel Webster wisely said: "Good intentions will always be pleaded for any assumption of power. The Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters ... but they mean to be masters."

Perhaps Ms. Pelosi was referring to the number of labor hours each taxpayer will be required to perform in his/her lifetime to pay for this morbid stupidity?  crazy2

I am hoping for a swift reversal. I don't claim to be a Constitutional Expert, but something about "Federal Law" seems inherently wrong. I don't think we should have federal programs for anything but National Parks, National Monuments, and National Highways... It's amazing, you give them an inch, and they take a mile.

I hate politics and rather get inked with a used needle from Tommy Lee then follow any. The only thing I know, per my boss, is that we (EMS) will get a lesser rembursement from medicare/caid then we do now. For years it has put us in the hole and looks like we maybe deeper now.  Undecided

They say it will be funded out of our taxes. So will it come outta the State/Federal or from a increase in my Insurance premiums?

So now here  is another "right" we have to pay for?  Like paying for classes and a permit to exercise our right to bear arms?  Next you'll have to pay for your right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
