Still in the hospital my collapsed left lung is not sealing. I did this 11 days ago and did'nt know I had a collapse of my lung I just thought I had hurt myself and gotten sick. My other organs around the lung moved into the void and I'm having tremendous pain as everything is in a shuffle for a spot in my chest. The doctor that glued me back together has not be around and I'm wired to the bed with just enough slack to get to the bathroom. I was hoping to get out of here on thursday but until the lung seals I'm stuck here and may face major surgery to have it repaired. I'm having extreme discomfort . I talked to BOOMR today and I saw his post he must have misunderstood me or the drugs was talking the tube is beside my lung ( through the rib ) and not down my throat. I have no idea when I'll get out of this house of torment ( hospital ) .

Whoa, not good buddy. You better do what the Doc says so you can get home. Sorry to hear it has been so bad. Well, that explains why you were feeling bad last week. Joe told me on the phone last Friday he thought he was fighting the flu or a bad cold. Obviously it is worse than he thought. Thanks for the update Joe. Heal up my friend.

Joe, my heart hurts for you. I won't tell anyone else, but just between you and me I understand about the pain. It's definitely debilitating. Don't let them take that tube out until they are certain that the lung has sealed. It hurts more the second time. Do the deep breathing that the doctor calls for with whatever method they use. At my place they had the Incentive Spirometer. Breathe in the stuff they give you to fight off the chance of pneumonia.
When they get ready to remove the tube the doctor will lie to you and say it won't hurt at all. He thinks he can get away with it because it happens so quickly. Don't let him know that you can feel it. Guys like you and me will just look him in the face and ask, "That's it? Is that all you've got?"
Take good care of yourself, Joe, and try really hard not to rush the process. I need to know that you're in the wind. It makes my world brighter, but I can wait until you're fully healed.
Tell them to bring Presley Cheyenne to visit you every day. She needs it and so do you.
I wish you safe winds and a bright future, my friend.

Hey Joe,
Sorry to hear your layed up instead of Laid up. Hope your feeling better soon and all healed up good as new. Take Willow's advice, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him yet, but seems to know his stuff when it comes to dealing with those sawbones.
Make sure you look me up on the Blue Gray ride.
Skinhead
PS - let me know if you need some one to take your bikes out to blow the dust off'n em while your layed up. This MI winter is killin' me.

please do what they tell you, and now is a great time to kick the habit as prices on tobacco are going up marginally tomorrow. It sure was good to see you and eat together Saturday and we'll do it again as soon as you're ready. You're in our thoughts and prayers and let us know if we can help in any way. Take care and heal fast Bro...

Get well soon.
Smokin is a hard thing to kick. I watched my grandfather keep smoking through his traque hole after they took his voice box out from cancer. Doc said it was purely habbit as to why he kept doing it.

Hey Joey, I really feel with you. You must be sustainable and think positively. We have communicated some and I know that you are a good man. I really look forward to meet you in person some day. You must use the best medicine available, smile and hug from your loved ones, especially Presley. There is nothing to relieve pain better than a good hug from a child.
Your friend Dag

Sorry to hear things aren't better yet. The Doc's will do what they gotta do to get you up and about.
You have a lot of people praying for you brother. We have seen what the power of prayer can do.
Take care,

Smoke 'less' Joe. I'll re-express that SMOKE 'LESS', that is the best thing you can start off with. Tossing the nicotine. I tossed it in 1982 when I had a horse pistol stay. Emergency Room type entry after a 50 mile ambulance ride. By the time I got released I did not have the urge anymore to stuff a butt in my mouth. At that time I had smoked for about 40 years. Oh, by the way, your lungs never completly kick all the nicotine crap out....... Now, I'll only say this once, so pay attention......... Please don't do as I do, do as the Dr suggests......I'd of been about a month on down the road better than I am now had I of listened about 5 weeks ago when I took my last big tumble............ The thing that got my attention and made me shape up was the fact I could have been cremated for free had a fire got sparked from the spilled gas and it's fumes, and no one was there to help me. Nuf said buddy, just listen and do as told......... See ya on the road somewhere, hopefully you will had Badmojo, I want to see that gal in person, she sure do look sweet............

Man....some people will do anything to get out of work!!! Seriously brother, you have always been there for me and now it's my time to be there for you. You are in my thoughts and that's for sure. My advice, you have to go through the process. You are sick and it's serious. It will take time to get well and you must let the process take it's course. The more seriously you take your recovery the sooner you will be leaning "BADMOJO" so do what the doctor's say. Besides, you and I still have a war to debate this summer.... Love ya man, Paul
