Paul ( Britman ) has ask me if I could put together a ride for the Memorial Day weekend as he will be unable to have his annual ride this year out of Lenior , North Carolina. This years ride will be shorten  ( 1 ) day and a new location as well . Ground Zero will be Knoxville , Tennessee. The ride on Saturday May 29 will take us through The Devil's Triangle,Backroads along beautiful Norris Lake and the Obed River Basin, The Tree House near Crossville and Ozone Falls . This is one of my favorite loops with great roads and awesome scenic views along the way.Ride in on friday evening May 28, The ride will be Saturday May 29 we'll head for home on Sunday morning May 30.The motel will be Motel 6 at 402 Lovell Rd in Knoxville,Tennessee. This is a single level park at your door motel that we've used several times in the past for our rides. You will need a room for Friday May 28 and Saturday May 29.I called and we do get a discount the rates are $31.66 tax included for a single and $37.98 tax included for a double . ATTENTION ....Be sure to say  " THE TREE HOUSE RIDE " when making reservations.Make reservations as soon as possible with this being a holiday weekend.

Motel 6

402 Lovell Rd. Knoxville,TN ( Exit 374 off I-40 )

What time will it be leaving from the Motel parking lot?

I have it written in the calendar.

If possible Rod you should just get a room that way you can hang out with the group at the pre and post ride ( At least for saturday May 29 that way you don't ride home in the dark after a full day ride ) . Kickin' tires and tellin' lie's in the motel parking lot going out for supper etc. is where you get to know folk's. If its not possible for you to stay at Ground Zero I'll get back to you on down the line somewhere as the time of the ride gets closer .

Thanks Joe.

Until my 14 1/2 year old mutt goes on to the great dog park in the sky I'm not willing to leave him at home for more than a short day. His hips are wearing out so he needs lifting up at least 2 or 3 times a day when he can't quite do it himself. Needs help traversing the stairs as well.

Luckily he has a bladder the size of a blue whale  Grin so being left to snooze suits him just fine.

We had a Husky for 14 years he got cancer and did'nt make it  Sad .That ol'dog crosses my mind still yet to this day and just the mention of his name will send my daughter into tears. He died over 10 years ago and I'll never let another dog into our lives as I don't need the heartache. Next year we'll put the ball back in your court on Memorial Day weekend  cooldude . I'm lookin' forward to this ride and hoping for a good group of riders and I'm sure all will dig the planned route.

Man, I know that Joe is going to put on one heckuva ride (as always).  If you have never seen the "tree house", it is a MUST SEE!  WInghot took us there on the way back from Tennessee one time and it blew me away.  Like I said, it is a MUST SEE.

That route sounds very similar to your "Stomping Grounds Ride" back in '05 or '06. A good ride indeed and one that brings back many fond memories. I met people on that ride that have become very good friends. Some will be friends for life.  cooldude

That was the Motel 6 I stopped at, before I headed to Sevierville in January.

Never realized I was this close, but being tired does make one not take too many chances.

I'm looking forward to the run.

Gonna be busy this weekend. Turn ugh, 50 tomorrow. Man I feel OLDE    Shocked

Man I'd love to go. Now all I have to do is convince the Boss that we should Ducktape the kids to a tree for three days and go.
Are there still rooms available?
