So, it may be a little early, but:
The Houston Ride for Kids is coming up on April 25.  That's Sunday morning.  It's actually in Humble, at the Humble Civic Center.  Great ride for a great cause.
Who's going?
For locals, we can get a group ride-in set up if that works for everybody.  For foreigners (DFW/other), let us know when you're getting to town.  We'll talk about having dinner the night before.

Stephanie and I plan to be there.
Who else?

I know at least 2 north-siders will be there.  Probably more.   Wink

I'll just give you a wide berth so you can perform all your "sliding" activities as a solo act.

We're planning on coming down via Dublin as the plan stands now. We've got a room at the Super 8 host hotel.

Here's a link to the RFK festivities   http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/calendar/2010/houston.html I've seen Valk riders from all over TX and as far away as NM, NC and even Norway at this ride.  It's all about helping some really sick kids with brain tumors.  See you guys there!

Looking forward to this next weekend and have got a reservation at the host hotel for cheap.  Hoping we get a lot of the VRCC folks there for the ride on Sunday.  Any thoughts on a Saturday dinner on the North side of town so us out of town folks can all hook up with the southern crowd?

Working on a dinner meet for Saturday. Guess we should get a head count.  If you can't make Saturday night and the ride Sunday, better to make the ride Sunday.  Once you're been to one and the Celebration of Life lunch, you won't want to miss another one.  Ride Texas Magazine readers have voted this the best charity ride in the state several times over.

Quote from another thread, from Dag...
"I have a flight back to Norway this afternoon.

See you next year!"

Guess he won't be riding with us... Sad

Yes, I just got a note from Dag. He wanted to be home bad enough to spend the big bucks to see his girls! Can't fault him for that. At least I got one good kiss! ~Jeff

Say, I did not want to leave anyone out that might want to ride down from the DFW metromess area for the Houston R4K. I hope all of you are doing the parade in Dublin first and riding down with SideCar after. I had already committed to some wrenching in Waco on the way down Saturday morning. I will be doing the Kansas State University thang around 7am in the morning, Saturday if anyone would like to join me, just let me know. ~Jeff

Dinner tomorrow night is getting complicated, so we're probably going to punt on that.  Therefore, everyone can focus on getting up there Sunday morning.  Let's have a good local contingent show up.  It's a very well done ride, and I like to see Valkyries there.  See ya'll in Humble!

Using last year as a reference for dinner Saturday night, the best thing for those interested in joining the PBTF Staff & Volunteers to do would be to be at the host hotel before dinner time and hang around in the lobby looking for familiar faces to see what the plan becomes.  And, everyone pays their own way.

Sounds fine.  Give me a call if you want to ride in together so that we get positioned in the line together.

For anyone coming up from the south side of town:
Several of us are meeting at Dixie Farm Road and 45 (the old Dixie Diner) at 8 AM.  We'll ride up together from there.
Join us if you like.
