Well, as of 5:00 yesterday afternoon I ended my industrial career.  I sat down last night to type of an annoucement to my friends on boards I frequent.  I got overwhelmed and could not stop putting the feelings I was having down on paper. Instead of a long post on several boards I decided to post it to my blog.

If you happened to watch Undercover Boss and seen the 7-11 show that was the plant.  I worked hard, missed inzanes, and wound up getting screwed in the end.
Oh well,
Next Chapter, appling for full disability, retiring into our woodcarving bussines, and resting these worn out bones for a while.

I heard from a friend of mine that is 80 years old.  He told me "either time is going by faster or I am moving slower, I believe time is moving faster!"

He sure is  a good guy and he is loving retirement.   The neighborhood that we bought a house in has some really good fellas that are retired and very friendly.  They already tease me about being off 4 1/2 days a week and only being 32  crazy2

anyhow... Cheers Goody...  Enjoy your time and your "honey-do list"  2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

Congrats on a job and career well done!!  Foreign made trinkets aside, your work ethic speaks for itself. Stand (...the best you can) tall and proud of your work life.  Only us as individuals know what we've done and where we've been over the years.  Few around us know, or much care.  I share your sentiments about the older American worker.  Enjoy.  sheets (35 down - 2 1/2 to go)

Congradulations!  make it a long one. The best advise I'll never get to put uinto practise was from my brother when he retired from the Air Force. They bought a 70k palace on wheels and wentn to findwhere they wanted to retire.
The advise was; "I'm going to Coronado and parking this for TWO weeks. I'm gonna smoke ceegars and drink a few rum-n-cokes and force myself to do nuthin.  I'm gonna learn to be retired."
He has since forgotten the lessons learned in those weeks.
Thats how life is. You enjoy.

Well Lord willing I will sling the ole badge back over the fence in 2014 , just in time for Socail Security

to Crash and send me back to work..

Damn politicians spent all the money on pork and now we don't have a pot to pee in.

They'll come a day they will pay for it.

But we will pay through the nose and then some.

But Happy Retirement , hope you can stick with it.

Social Security , My Big Ole Butt.

I wish you a happy and long retirement.

Keep active, exercise the best that you can, and don't stop to watch the boob tube too much.

I retired in 1991 at 62.   I seem to work about as much as I did for wages.  I do like the hours but the pay isn't as good. Wink
