My wife came home from work in a bad mood today. She had a hard day. So I went out to continue working our project truck. When she came up to check it out I decided it was time to head to supper. We hopped on the bike. We took off with no particular way to go. We had a nice early supper.

Then we just kept riding. We went North for a while. We went past historic Murray's Mill. Then we swung back south still heading no particular place to go. We went through Charlotte, then were almost to Albermarle when we headed back through Concord.

We clocked 200 miles as it cooled this evening. A little after 10 we came in. It was nice to have her on the bike with me again. It has been a while since she has jumped on the back and we just headed nowhere. Sometimes nowhere is the best place to go.

Enjoy those times as often as possible. Due to health problems, by wife hasn't been able to ride with me for about eight years. I miss having her back there, kinda comforting and reassuring. I always kid her about how much I miss the "backrest" on those long rides.  Evil  We used to do much the same thing, take off with no plan or destination in mind....just the joy of the ride.

When you're in a car, you're going somewhere. When you're on a motorcycle, you're already there.
