Does anyone have, or know where to find, installation instructions / parts list for the factory CB?  The one I got recently looks to be in great condition, but it was in a non-oem box with no paperwork.  I know I need an antenna, but don't know what else might be missing.  TIA, DFG

Not to jack the thread but are these manuals like the radio and CB copyrighted?     Other than the service manual why could we not have a page to go and download the Radio CB and othe electronic manuals at our whim. Like this http://www.magnaownersoftexas.com/forums/index.php?topic=1917.0

I am afillaited with this group. I know we have a Tech page sort of but this would allow us to have a place to go and get info just on the Valk hope I do not offend anyone by posting the other link !!

OK, I was afraid my question might be too broad.  The Installation Instructions Grumpy sent are for an Interstate.  Does anyone have them for a Tourer?

Dave, if you have the Hondaline accessory CB, for a standard or Tourer, there is a complete installation kit, sold separately, that you need.  It is still available from a Honda dealer.  Antenna & mount is another separate item.

Thanks, Kingbee.  Yes, it's the Honda CB for Standard or Tourer.  Looking at what I have (head piece + bracket, transceiver, antenna lead, 2 dongle leads, and lots of electrical), I think most of it is here.  I have my parts guy at the dealership looking for what he can find, but it's been 2 days.

there's also a noise suppressor that installs on the backside of the alternator (requires removing the alternator...a real PITA).

I'm a proud new owner of an Interstate which I've had triked, but the manuals have gone AWOL. I'd appreciate links or pdfs of anything that anyone has since I'm trying to reset the clock and tune the radio and can't get past step zero!

I have a complete installation kit (New) with instructions for the Standard/Tourer. If needed, I can scan the instructions into computer for you unless you already got them.

No problem. FYI I started it this afternoon and then lost power with the storm in NJ. Will attempt to finish tomorrow if power is back on.

I second that it a real PITA. worst part of the install, at least I thought. Just my 2 cents

If you've already got them scanned, why not send to the Board admins and have them post it on the shop talk page.  That way, they're there for the next guy.

Hey guys, Admin staff denied request to post the instructions on the Shop Talk page due to copyright laws. I totally understand and if I were in their position, I would play it safe as well. I tried! If anyone needs a copy, let me know. I have them saved on computer and I don't believe it is against the law to share among friends.

NOTE: I only have standard/Tourer instructions. i believe another member on this site had the I/S.

I have emailed to Grumpy the Standard / Tourer Installation Instructions I received from jwbber45.  I've also emailed to jwebber45 the Interstate Installation Instructions I received from Grumpy.  Now, all three of us have both sets.

Not very consistent then.

Hondaline Bag Rail, trunk, and guard rail instructions, direct from Honda, are posted there.  What is different about CB instructions?

I did mention that to the administrator and was told the following:

Hi, John.

I guess I should look more closely at what's been posted in the past in Shoptalk.

As for me, my policy is to be extra careful not to post anything that's held by someone else's copyright. I'll get the thoughts of my colleagues.

Thank you for the offer.

Be safe.

VRCC Staff"

As I stated earlier, I understand about being careful with other persons/companies copyrights and I hope they don't remove the other instructions from the Shop Talk site, as I would feel bad and probably will be hated on this site if that happens. I certainly don’t want to make any enemies here when my intentions were only for the good of the VRCC.

Good idea, Gordon.

I just emailed the files to Dag with the link to this thread included.

No argument here from me about copyrighted materials, but it does make me wonder...  Are the CBs still available from Honda?  I'm almost certain the one for Standard / Tourer is not.  Not sure about the Interstate.  If the hardware is no longer available, and the installation instructions are included with the hardware, are the installation instructions still available separately?  If not, then...
