I put an add on the classifieds looking for a luggage rack.  I got an email from april allen that read:

Hi, I have a Honda Line luggage rack in great condition. I have sole them in the past for $85-$100; but I will sell it to a VRCC member for $75.00 plus shipping. I am sending pictures of it. The chrome is very good with no rust or pitting. Thanks, April Allen

I replied saying I'd take it, and that I wanted to know her VRCC handle and VRCC number.

I have had no response for a few days.

Can anyone share some info?

Thanks in advance!

Jabba, I sold one on the VRCC classifieds last week for $65.00 which included shipping.  If you have time to shop around, I think you can do better.

I have purchased from her (them) in the past. When I was selling tons of Valkyrie stuff she (they) wanted a price for everything I had available. Bought it all. I think they are in Texas?
I seem to remember seeing several Valks for sale by her (them) also. I may be wrong, but that name seems familiar to me. If that's the same folks I'm thinking of, no problems with transactions. Good people cooldude

Me too.  I have been looking on the classifides for a couple weeks.  I don't know HOW I missed yours.

I am a little concerned too about the Honda Line Rack says it has a 6 lb weight limit?

I am going to ride around lake michigan in July, and cruise thru Inzane on Saturday night.  Hang around Bellaire on Sunday and home on Monday.

So I have THAT much time.

I think that 6 pound disclaimer is too keep Honda's in-house lawyers happy.  I put my T-bags on my luggage rack filled with both me and my wifes clothes (wife's clothes = 75%, mine = 25%) and rode about 2500 miles round trip to Inzane with no problems.

April and Carmen live in Fort Worth.  Carmen does alot of leather seats for motorcycles.  He did John Schmidts.  April and Carmen are friends of ours, and are real good christian people.  I know when they work on the bikes that they are always in mint condition.  Their standards are high.  I have seen their work ethics.  As far as price is concerned, I don't know.

I've bought items from her on ebay and our site. Always recieved good service and the parts have always been what she decribed. The price isn't bad when considering the part is hard to locate.

I have known April & Carman personally for a couple of years now.  I have also bought several things from April.  I have been to their house and been treated to some wonderful pie and coffee on two occasions now.  These are two honest hard working, religeous individuals that I consider to be my friends.  Carman Allen is quite a talented individual when it comes to working with leather and he can sure make a Vlakyrie look good and run the same way...JTL    Smiley

Have dealt with April before, no problems.  Maybe they are just out enjoying the nice weather?

I too have purchased from April, and spoke with Carmen about refoaming a Corbin seat.  He was honest enough to tell me that you can't make one comfortable, so I let it go.  Good folks as far as I'm concerned.

Dont be concerned about it. I had a cooler filled with a couple 5th's, 6 pk, and a few quarts and pints and all was good to go.  cooldude

Yep bought my Valk from her and Carmen.  They even delivered it to Alabama as they were heading to Florida to pick up their bikes which was having some custom work done.

The bike was as near flawless as a 12 year old bike can be.

It was Carmens seat and leather work that sold it for me.

I have also bought some other do-da's from April.

Great people!!

So what does the leather tooling of a seat run approximately? I know it would vary depending on what done, but a ball park price to start from.
