Finally got the new Avon Cobra & new GL1800 'Wing rotors on my Valk.
I say this everytime I get a new front...WoW this thing rides smooth! The thing I'm happiest about is the 'Wing rotors. Less than 1/2 the price of new Valk rotors & they look great too.
I went ahead & put new bearings, new Honda pads, & new rotor-to-wheel bolts too. After listening to the scraping & squealing for the last 5K or so coming from the front brakes it feels & sounds MUCH better! Didn't quite make 100K like I was going to try to do with the OE rotors, the front tire got too bad to ride on it anymore.  Shocked
Thanks for the tips on the GW rotor swap. Man I love this site!

GW rotors on a Valk.

Yes the do look great.
I put some on last night.
However I had the misfortune of snapping one of the bolts.
Now I need ti figure out how to get it out.
I have never had any luck with removing snaped bolts.
I might just pay some one to take care of it forme. Embarrassed

A quick search...  With the right tools, care, and patience you should be OK.

LIke you stated, Time and patience.
I am going to buy an set of easy outs and try to get it out without cuasiing any more damage.
I would like to think I should be able to fiind a temporary replacment bolt until the OEM bolts would arrive?
Wish me luck! Wink

Man, I hate to hear that!
All 12 of mine came right out easy. If there is a decent stub of the bolt sticking up from the wheel, I recommend spot welding a small bolt to the stub. The combo of the heat from the weld & the added torque you can apply has done the trick for me numerous times. Whatever cosmetic damage that method may cause will be covered up by the rotor. Steel bolts broken off in aluminum is a bi-otch!  Angry

Wait a min..... let me get this right here....    A front Valk IS Disc Rotor is 315. - 346. (L and R rotors are diff prices??)  according to DLP,  and a GL1800 Wing Rotor is 150.00 each and they bolt right up with no other mods?   Is this correct? or a Typo.... should I order a set for spares now before they change the price?

Here is the DLP link for the parts fische....

You got it right PA.
The GW rotors are actually $141 & $146 {as of two weeks ago} from DirectLine.
Proof of fitment is in the pic!
From what I have read here the Valk rotor starts out at 5mm thick with a throw away thickness of 4mm. The GW rotors start at 4.5mm & are throw away at 3.5mm.
Other than that & the wagon wheel look of the center they are functionally the same. I figured the thickness diff was a non-issue as they stop a heavier GL1800 just fine.
Better grab a set before Mother Honda raises the price! Grin

I droped $150 a piece from HDL and another $73 or so for the Valkyrie brake pads.
The only problem I had was acting like a dam monkey at torked it one click past the snapping point.
But an easy out made short work of the busted bolt.
If enough of us by the 1800 rotors for our Valks, and the OEM rotors for the Valks stop selling maybe they would lower the price for the Valk OEM rotors? coolsmiley
