There was a video posted on the general board this week of all these red light runners and similar accidents. After seeing how some of these idiots manage to snake through traffic and hit someone, never slow down and run over someone or pull some other stupid stunt, I had really been on my toes.  All that being said, some jackass changed lanes on top of me last night and ran me into the curb. I was probably going 10mph and still didn't manage to keep it upright in an emergency stop.

Only damage was to the right engine guard and peg, and my top lip. Glad I had my padded jacket on, elbow and ribs might have suffered more as I landed on the curb.

Witness got the tag off the vehicle and I have left messages for the owner, I haven't gotten a call back yet. I felt sure they must have never realized what happened so I didn't call the cops. But since they aren't returning calls, I am not so sure. Any thoughts?

Notify PD ASAP if you want anything done.    Might be too late already.   Depends on the jurisdiction..

Ditto.  That can be considered leaving the scene of an accident.

Glad you weren't hurt in the process.  Ditto on the police report if you want to have them pay for the damage.  Keep track of the witness also or you aren't likely to get satisfaction from the driver's insurance.

You got their phone number.  The address can't be far behind... If you think it was intentional!

Ok, talked to the woman that ran me into the curb. She didn't realize immediately what had happened, but when she stopped at the light and saw me in the mirror she realized what she had done. Because of traffic (it was rush hour) and she had kids in the car, she had to go down the road, make a u-turn, come back and go through the intersection again, make another u-turn to get back to where it happened. By that time I had already picked up the bike and left. She also rides, she was sincerely apologetic and was nearly in tears.

Long and short, I am getting the damage fixed minor though it was.
