Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: April 11, 2010, 06:19:53 PM »

We hooked up with Normandog and Carolina Girl in Clinton, Tennessee this morning with the intent of ridin' with them as they headed back home to North Carolina from our awesome weekend ride.Needless to say we took the looooong way  Wink . At one point today we had lunch near the Tennessee / Virginia stateline as most of you know thats nowhere near Nebo, North Carolina.

Thanks for taking this picture Ron.....Big Al and Smokinjoe side by side on Hwy.66 we call this road " The Beast " .

Took backroads out by the old Pressmen's Home I love this area the roads are made for motorcycling. The first picture at one time was the motel several years ago the rednecks burn it down as they did many of the buildings on The Pressmens Home.

The school and hospital still stand.

Good picture of Normandog.

I liked this house so I stopped and took a picture  Smiley

Ronnie sorry we did'nt say goodbye...Jack pulled up to me right before we split and said he needed to get home the pain was getting to him. He had a drunk woman T-Bone him on his bike several years ago and it totaled his leg  Sad  He hangs tough however sometime it gets to the point he can nolonger deal with it. I told him I'd ride with him to make sure he got home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paul ( Britman ) has ask me if I could put together a ride for the Memorial Day weekend as he will be unable to have his annual ride this year out of Lenior , North Carolina. This years ride will be shorten  ( 1 ) day and a new location as well . Ground Zero will be Knoxville , Tennessee. The ride on Saturday May 29 will take us through The Devil's Triangle,Backroads along beautiful Norris Lake and the Obed River Basin, The Tree House near Crossville and Ozone Falls . This is one of my favorite loops with great roads and awesome scenic views along the way.Ride in on friday evening May 28, The ride will be Saturday May 29 we'll head for home on Sunday morning May 30.The motel will be Motel 6 at 402 Lovell Rd in Knoxville,Tennessee. This is a single level park at your door motel that we've used several times in the past for our rides. You will need a room for Friday May 28 and Saturday May 29.I called and we do get a discount the rates are $31.66 tax included for a single and $37.98 tax included for a double . ATTENTION ....Be sure to say  " THE TREE HOUSE RIDE " when making reservations.Make reservations as soon as possible with this being a holiday weekend.
