I will tell ya that I run the Metzlers. I have run Avons, Dunlops and the Metzlers and I cannot really tell the difference. I think unless your an expert rider and push a bike to the max, I don't think ya can tell them apart. Air pressure is critical, I believe that. Now I live in Arizona and it is......lets say a bit warmer here than most states

and tires do handle differently in the colder climates. A hard rubber tire here probably won't handle as good in a northern state. I think the Avons are a bit softer and thus they are chosen by our northern riders but here in Az. a tire gets pretty warm and the softer tires seem to wear out quicker here.
The biggest thing to remember is air pressure and also remember......this is just my 2 cents worth!!!!
